Traveling? Pack the Right Accessories!

Ouim Watch 2

Hey you guys, hope you’ve all had a great weekend!  Mine wasn’t so great- I always miss my own family on holidays like this, and Jerry’s son, along with daughter-in-law and grandchildren, are now in California.  So, everyone I care about most is far, far away, and I don’t exactly feel the love here…lol!

But, enough of the sad, sappy stuff.  For now, anyway!

With all the airline atrocities in the news lately, it made me think of all the negative experiences I’ve had while flying.  As a frequent flier, there have definitely been instances of pi$$-poor customer service, to say the least.  While many of these issues we can’t prepare for, we CAN prepare for the lost luggage issue.  I can’t begin to count the number of times this has happened to me!  Ugggghhh…!

I try to pack light (for me) with my makeup, as with this natural look in the photo.  (We have a YouTube video coming soon with the how-to and what-I-used deets, so keep checking!  You can click the red box below to subscribe to our new channel so you can be one of the first to see!)

Although I’ve always gotten my luggage back at some point (*knocking on wood*) when it’s been lost, I always fear that at some point, this will not be the case.  I try to keep some lower priced, but fashionable, high quality accessories on-hand for travel.  Some of them I even wear when I’m not traveling since they’re so fab!

Ouim Watch 1

My regular watch is an Omega that I gifted to myself after finishing grad school, but since it was pretty pricey, and has sentimental value, I don’t like to risk traveling with it.  I love big watches, so I often opt for those that are “for men.”   This Ouim large faced one is perfect for needs.  It looks sleek, and with the large face, it’s on-trend, plus it’s versatile enough to go with about any outfit I wear.  I’ve gotten a LOT of compliments on it, and it’s very reasonably priced for what you get.  Check it out at Amazon.

Me hematite necklace 1

I also like my jewelry to be versatile.  I try to bring along costume jewelry in mixed metals, and limit it to just a few pieces that will go with anything I pack.  One of my faves is this hematite circle necklace Jerry stuck in my Christmas stocking a couple years ago.  It’s cute, and I can wear it with both dressy and casual outfits.

Hopefully we’ll be traveling to Iowa soon to visit my family.  My sister’s recovering from a major surgery, so I need to see her for myself to ensure she’s okay.  I also miss my nephews fiercely!  (And of course the rest of my family, too!)  Hopefully a trip to California is in the near future, as well, as I miss those sweeties, too!
