I had heard good things about Somme Institute skincare from an esthetician, so I’m super-duper happy to have the chance to try their products!
In 1994, a team came together that included research and practicing dermatologists throughout the United States. After years of being disappointed with skincare products that didn’t perform up to their standards, Somme Institute was born, with the goal of making perfect skin attainable (Somme Institute, 2016).
Somme Institute began clinical trials in 1996 to test which ingredients yielded results, and which didn’t. The participants’ skin conditions became visible with the use of UV photography, allowing researchers to examine and analyze damage that would later result in wrinkles, dryness, and uneven skin tone (Somme Institute, 2016).
It’s important to note that many skincare companies advertise what appears to be impressive data. However, if you’re familiar with legitimate research processes, it’s easy to spot companies that use misleading marketing techniques; in those cases, I call “shenanigans.” One of my biggest pet peeves is when a company fails to use an adequate sample size in their so-called “trials.” This is NOT the case with Somme Institute. Over 5,000 participants were utilized, with testing and tracking over more than ten years (Somme Institute, 2016).
After all these years of testing, Somme Institute developed a patented technology called Molecular Dispersion Technology 5. MDT5 allows the skin to fully absorb vitamins and, in turn, results in reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, repair of sun damage, reduction in hyperpigmentation, acne, and rosacea, as well as dramatic improvement of the skin’s texture, tone, and clarity (Somme Institute, 2016).
The packaging is very minimalist, which I like because it makes things very easy. I hear so many people complain about how confusing it is to find products in stores- and how easy it is to grab the wrong thing. The sleek, simple packaging ensures you will grab the right bottle when you are surrounded by a hoard of products.
I received the Mobile Travel Kit, which is awesome because I will get to experience the whole regimen. It includes the Nourishing Cleanser, Transport (exfoliating pads), Serum, A-Bomb Moisturizer, and Double Defense SPF 30+. I can’t wait to experience these products, and more importantly, I can’t wait to tell you all about them- so keep checking back!
Although the packaging states that Somme Institute’s $85.00 Mobile Travel Kit contains seven days of treatments, it appears that it will last a lot longer than that, so it’s a really great value. You can get your hands on it at SpaceNK, Nordstrom, Dermstore.com, and SommeInstitute.com.

Oh, no! I’m so sorry you had bad luck- Somme Institute’s products were created by dermatologists with over 10 years of research and testing- so I know it will be much better for you! Keep checking back for my final reviews! 🙂
