Omg- yep, you read that correctly! Skinfix is going to be in Sephora starting April 2, 2019!
Not only is the brand going to be in one of the most well-known beauty giants, but the products have gotten a makeover! I’ll admit, I did actually really like the previous packaging. It used to be blues and silver, and I LOVE blue, so I found it very pleasing. But, the new packaging still looks pretty fab- fun colors, along with tweaked names, to help identify the products more easily.
While we’re on the subject, I’ll tell you about two of my faves!
The Barrier+ Foaming Oil Cleanser is a must-have cleanser for all skin types. Despite the name, the consistency is actually pretty creamy- and it does foam up a bit, without being overly sudsy and stripping the skin. It’s formulated with coconut cleansers, glycerin, and natural oils, so there’s no tight, dried out feeling.
If I’m wearing a lot of makeup, I tend to do a pre-cleanse with a balm or micellar water, then follow up with the Foaming Oil Cleanser. This also works well with my sonic cleansers if I want a slightly deeper clean. Unlike some cleansing oils, this one rinses away cleanly without any greasy residue.
I have oily, yet sensitive skin from using tretinoin, so I don’t want something that will make me oilier, but I don’t want to dry out my skin or it will produce even more oil. Yuck! My skin is also sensitized, so I need something that’s not irritating. This stuff gets the job done perfectly- makeup and impurities seem to melt away, without sucking the moisture out of my face. My skin is left clean and soft, and irritation-free!
The Redness Recovery+ Antioxidant Redness Treatment Overnight Mask is yet another winner. It’s easy to see why this is such a popular product. It’s chock full of high quality oils, peptides, green tea, and honey, so it’s soothing, nourishing, and moisturizing, all in one jar! The light green mask has a gel cream consistency, so despite being ultra-hydrating, it goes on easily and doesn’t feel overly heavy. There’s a fresh, light, natural scent- almost like cucumber but not quite, I can’t determine exactly what it is. Perhaps from the green tea? Anywho, it’s pleasant, but dissipates quickly, so no worries if you’re sensitive to fragrance.
If you have rosacea, this mask is purported to do wonders. I don’t have that issue, thank goodness, but as mentioned previously, my skin is hypersensitive from retinoids. I also spend a lot of time outside, so my skin gets irritated from environmental factors- sun, wind, pollution, you name it. I love applying this before bed, because when I wake up, my skin feels so much more calm and refreshed.
My only complaint is the jar packaging- I wish they would have put this in a tube or pump when they did the packaging makeover. Antioxidant products are subject to degradation by light and air, so they should be packaged in a way to minimize exposure to these things (Kauer, Kapila & Agrawal, 2007). There’s also the issue of contamination from repeatedly dipping one’s fingers into the jar. It’s such a well-formulated product, though, so the jar is not a deal-breaker. I simply transferred the mask into a travel squeeze bottle. Problem solved!
If you’re still not salivating over Skinfix products, let me just say, they’re formulated by dermatologists, and they’ll be carrying the “Clean at Sephora” emblem. The products are free from sulfates, parabens, formaldehydes, mineral oils, synthetic fragrances, etc. So you know you’re not putting anything yucky onto your skin!
