Sunblock is one of my favorite and most essential items. I tend to hoard sun protection products. Shiseido’s Urban Environment Tinted UV Protector has a Broad Spectrum SPF of 43, is oil-free, and water resistant up to 40 minutes.
According to Shiseido, this product contains Super-Veil-UV 360™ and Profense CEL™, in order to protect cells and DNA, and reduce wrinkle-causing enzyme activity. I am unsure of these claims since I have not been using this long enough, but I’ll take all the help I can get!
This is lightly scented, and those who are sensitive to fragrance may not like it, but the scent dissipated fairly quickly. While there are only three shades, they are very forgiving since this is not as highly pigmented as a foundation. I got this in 3, which looked like it may be a bit too light, but it worked out perfectly. For days when I don’t want to be too “made up,” I can get away with using this in place of foundation. As it is very sheer, I did use a concealer and setting powder. It’s oil-free, so it didn’t feel greasy, but it was kind of “slick” at first, until it set. It did not wear as well as a foundation- during allergy season, it transferred onto tissues. But, it’s still a great product and I will likely repurchase.
