Happy Mardi Gras, everyone, hope you’re having a fabulous weekend!
As for me, I’m working, as usual, and skipping the parades. I will say, though, that I’ve been excitedly trying out an eye treatment that Exuviance was kind enough to send to me for review. What is this, you ask? It’s the Intensive Eye Treatment Masque- intriguing, right?
First off, if you’ve been keeping up with our blog, you likely already know that Exuviance was created by Drs. Van Scott and Yu. These widely respected and renowned doctors are the ones who first discovered the anti-aging benefits of glycolic acid. As such, they’re also the original patent holders of the lunchtime glycolic peel. Needless to say, when you use a product from the brand, you know you’re getting something top quality that’s backed by solid research.

These eye pads are a bionic treatment that helps to support the skin’s matrix, which in turn purportedly firms the delicate eye area and helps diminish the appearance of crow’s feet. Bionic…?!?!?! As a fan of the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman, this is super exciting for me!
So, where do the “bionics” come in? Lactobionic acid is a key ingredient in many Exuviance products. Like glycolic acid, lactobionic acid is an alphahydroxy acid. However, research published by the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology has shown that lactobionic acid is not only less irritating, but may be more effective in some cases (Bird, 2010). This makes the ingredient ideal for the sensitive and delicate eye area. Pretty nifty, huh?
The box comes with 12 sets of 2, and each set is individually packaged so they stay fresh. These little eye pads are similar to other eye sheet masks, but they cover a much larger area. This makes me very happy because I have a tiny fine line that extends quite a ways away from my eye…lol. It doesn’t show except when I smile, and even then it’s barely visible. But it’s so darn long that I obsess about it, and I know these will help combat it.
The serum infused into these has a very, very light scent- but no worries if you’re sensitive to fragrance. They are fragrance-free, none is added, so the very light scent is that of the natural ingredients, and it’s barely discernible. I’ve experienced no irritation whatsoever, just hydrated, plumped skin. That fine line better kiss itself goodbye!
The only negative is these are a bit pricey at $49.00. However, the box contains twelve packets, with two pads in each. This comes out to only about $4.00 per treatment, which is a LOT less than you’d pay to go to a spa or to get a facial, but just as effective. So, when you break it down, they’re a pretty good deal.
If you have any concerns with your eye area, you should definitely consider Exuviance Intensive Eye Treatment Masque. Check it out at Exuviance.com! (For a limited time, get it for FREE by clicking the link below!)
