This post is actually for July 12 through July 19, 2015.
We went on a beach vacation to Gulf Shores, so I was curious as to how my skin would handle the sun and climate.
We were outside, on the beach, and at the pool every day. Despite the sun, I continued to use Retin-A every night. I used Shiseido SPF 50 Wet Force, 2 coats prior to going outside, reapplied every 2 hours. I’m pleased to report that this sunblock and continued reapplication satisfactorily protected my skin. I didn’t experience any sunburn or discoloration.

In the evenings, I used Embryolisse Masque Confort an hour or two after applying Retin-A. This helped give my skin some extra moisture and TLC after being outside all day.
The only issue I had was that toward the end of our trip, I developed a few white heads from the sunblock. I had used this same sunblock the year before, but I only applied a “normal” amount. I think the problem here was that I used SO much, and kept reapplying. But, it was a small price to pay to keep my skin protected, and the whiteheads went away quickly!
