As my aunt Sue said, “Lemmy WAS rock-and-roll.” Even if you are not a fan of Motorhead, there is no denying the major role Lemmy Kilmister played in the genre. While Lemmy was seen as a deviant, I have always admired him for being his own person.

Rock-and-roll has been a huge part of my life. Always there, through the good and the bad. It has also been a huge influence on my preference for an edgy style. Not only do I hate pink and love black, but I am a woman of extremes- I don’t do ANYTHING half-a$$ed! As such, it’s only appropriate to pay tribute to the man Dave Grohl has rightfully deemed a “rock god.”
I decided to create a look in the spirit of Lemmy, and celebrate his life with a bottle of Jack Daniels- his preferred drink. Although Lemmy was known for drinking a bottle a day, I will settle for a drink or two while watching videos paying homage to him!
For this look, I used Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Motorhead, of course. I also tried this look with Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Vampira, since matte liquid lipsticks are such a “thing” right now.
I started with Amazing Cosmetics Anti-Aging Primer, and used NARS All Day Weightless Luminous Foundation in Barcelona, followed by Urban Decay Naked concealer in Medium Warm, and Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder. I contoured and highlighted with Kat Von D’s Shade Light Palette, and used NARS blush in Final Cut. I highlighted my cheek bones with NARS Orgasm Illuminator.
In true Lemmy spirit, I used Last Sin, Angel, Defy, and Revolver, all from Urban Decay’s Vice 3 palette on my eyes. I lined with Doucce’s Ultra Precision Eyeliner, and finished with Benefit’s Roller Lash mascara. I touched up my brows with It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil.
Now, I’m off to relax and watch some Motorhead and Lemmy, while drinking a Jack and Coke. Rest in peace, Lemmy.
