Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Melting Cleanser

One of my favorite things about Ole Henriksen products is that they are effective, yet very reasonably priced.  When Brendan, at the Bossier City Sephora Inside JCP, gave me chance to try the Pure Truth Melting Cleanser 3-in-1 Cleansing Gelee, I was very happy.  Since I started this website, I have worn more makeup than ever, and often need to double or triple cleanse.

Ole Henriksen claims that this water-activated cleanser turns from a gel to an oil, then to a hydrating milk, to “melt” away impurities.  It contains Vitamin C, rose hip, and virgin cherry oils to help brighten, repair, and nourish the skin.

As this is part of the Pure Truth line, it does have a slight citrus scent, but not as strong as the Truth Serum.  You are supposed to massage the cleanser into dry skin, then add warm water to emulsify, then rinse.  I love oil cleansers, and this is very similar. My biggest complaint is that it comes in a jar, which bugs me for sanitary reasons.  The good thing about this formula, though, is that since it starts off in gel form, it’s easier to control- it doesn’t just run everywhere.  However, like oil cleansers, it takes a bit more time to rinse cleanly than a non-oil cleanser.  But, once I did get my face rinsed off, it felt very smooth.  If I’m not wearing a lot of makeup, I wouldn’t even need to do a second or third cleanse.  (Who am I kidding?  I would still do a second or third cleanse anyway…lol.)

  1. Hey! Do you like this better than Marula Oil Cleanser? I was thinking about getting it, but I’m not sure now.

    • Hi Gina! I’ve tried the Marula cleanser, too, and I like both of them. The Ole Henriksen starts off as a gel, so it’s a bit easier to control. On the other hand, the Marula rinses away more easily. But they both cleanse very well. I think the best thing to do would be to select one based on ingredients- choose the one that has the most beneficial nutrients for your particular needs. I would go to your nearest Sephora, and talk to a beauty advisor about your needs. They can also make you a sample of them to try! 🙂
