Hi, everybody!!! How’s it going? Well, as of the start of this writing, we’ve got yet another hurricane making landfall- Nate, please go away!! Despite the mild temperatures down here in the south, hurricanes are NOT something I enjoy.
Speaking of hurricanes and weather, as I’ve mentioned in a couple previous posts, the changing seasons means it’s time to re-evaluate our skincare routines. Despite fewer sunny days and dwindling outdoor activities that can damage our skin, the cooler, drier weather can still have an effect on our complexions.
On top of the temperature changes, I have allergies. Horrific seasonal allergies, which aren’t so seasonal! Along with all the hurricanes, we’ve had SO much rain down here. So, none of the plants that normally die out have died- they just keep growing and blooming, and spreading allergens everywhere.
I know, I know, we need bees, pollen, etc., in order to survive. But every day when I go outside, my white car is yellow. Usually I get at least a few months reprieve my sinuses, but not this year. And along with allergic rhinitis and sinus issues comes swollen, puffy eyes. Arrrgggghhh…

Now, back to that eye cream… In addition to addressing crow’s feet as well as helping build and plump the eye area, NeoStrata Intensive Eye Therapy is also purported to deflate puffiness. Could this possibly be my miracle product to help with my puffy allergy eyes and better protect my skin during the fall and winter weather…?
Intensive Eye Therapy contains some pretty stellar ingredients. The brand’s unique SynerG Formula uses multiple mechanisms achieve results in building and plumping the skin (NeoStrata, 2017). I really like this concept as it makes complete sense- it’s similar to using both diet and exercise simultaneously to achieve better fitness.
Apple stem cell extract helps protect the longevity of cells, enabling the skin to “act younger,” and peptides target collagen while NeoGlucosamine helps reinforce collagen. Furthermore, the NeoGlucosamine also helps inhibit a key enzyme in melanin formation, thereby reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation (NeoStrata, 2017).
Hyaluronic acid attracts moisture, and Vitamin C contributes antioxidant protection. Finally, the key ingredient for my allergy eye bags- drumroll please… caffeine! This ingredient is key in deflating under eye puffiness. With this superb combination, the result is noticeably younger looking eyes (NeoStrata, 2017).
Obviously, with this list of ingredients, I couldn’t wait to open the box and get this stuff on my skin! NeoStrata Intensive Eye Therapy is housed in a sleek, airtight, pump bottle. I like the way it’s made because it’s easy to dispense the exact amount I need- more or less depending on how puffy my eyes are…lol.
The cream doesn’t really have a scent, just a barely-there natural smell of the ingredients. It’s kind of thick, but due to the silicones (which are good), it’s easy to spread and absorbs readily. Lately, I’ve been having a lot of retinoid sensitivity due to using a stronger one, and the Intensive Eye Therapy actually soothed the irritation.
I do have some fine lines, and fortunately, the level of moisture did a decent job of reducing the appearance of them. The caffeine did a fantastic job of reducing puffiness fairly quickly, which made me very happy!
NeoStrata Intensive Eye Therapy wears well by itself, or with other skincare products and makeup with no problems. I’ve found that on days when my eyes are extremely puffy, and I have to actually look presentable FAST, I can use the Exuviance De-Puffing Eye Serum (which I keep in the fridge), let it work for half an hour or so, then apply the Intensive Eye Therapy over it- I get phenomenal results.
The only negative is that the price can seem a bit steep, at first, being $84. But, as with the brand’s other products, it’s very concentrated and a little bit goes a LONG way. Even a pea-sized amount is too much for me, I use about half that, which is enough for both eyes. Thus, one bottle will last a significant period of time.
I must say, that I really like this formula, overall. I appreciate the multi-faceted concept, as it addresses multiple issues with the eye area. I also like that it will work just as well during allergy season as it does during the rest of the year.
