The two Sephora stores we visit regularly were having a NARS event. Since I bought some shadow from one of them on the last visit, I made a purchase from the other store this time, which included this shadow stick.
When talking about the NARS event, Brendan (Bossier City Sephora Inside JCP) was SO excited about these shadow sticks, that I knew I just HAD to get at least one. I usually don’t like shadow sticks, so I only got one, Aigle Noir. This color is stunning- it’s a pewter-ish black infused with gold shimmer. After I tried it, I was wishing I had gotten more. It was SO pigmented and went on very smoothly. With it being in a stick form, it’s very versatile.
NARS claims these are creamy, blendable, long-lasting, and glide on without skipping or dragging. They also will not fade, crease, or smudge throughout the day. I would say they live up to the description!
For those who like smoky eyes, these are perfect. They are so pigmented that you can even use them as a liner. You can do a thick line and smudge, or you can use a liner brush to do a thinner line. I primed with Urban Decay shadow primer, and used MAC Sweetjoy shadow all over my whole eyelids. Then, I used the Aigle Noir on my lash line and corners, blending up. Finally, I used Kat Von D’s 3am (from Innerstellar palette) to blend it out. I finished with Diorshow mascara.
Tip: If you plan on doing some blending, first use a shadow or powder all over your entire eyelid and brow bone. This will provide a surface that is more conducive to blending.
Although I used a primer, wear time is fantastic even without it. I did a swatch on my hand; and knowing how much I use my hands, it should have smeared or worn off by now. But, it has not budged one bit after several hours. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend these. Thank you, Brendan!
