NARS claims that their All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation provides a full-coverage, natural finish while being lightweight. The foundation is supposed to wear for 16 hours, stay true to color, resist humidity, and improve skin clarity, all with just one pump.
I did not have any luck using just one pump of product. When applying as recommended, by warming the product in my hands, then pressing onto my face, I succeeded with two pumps. When using a foundation brush (my preferred method), it took about five pumps. I also found that it looked much more natural when using my hands.
With the use of brightening products and sunblock, my face is lighter than the rest of me, so Barcelona was the shade I selected. I found that it held up pretty well to the claims: light weight coverage, no oxidation, and it lasted about 14 hours with primer. I wouldn’t say that it is full-coverage with just one application, but it is easily buildable. The frosted glass bottle looks really sleek on my counter, but the matte lid gets a bit messy. I should also note- don’t let the word “luminous” scare you away- this was not shiny, nor did it have any mica or other shimmery, “glowy” particles. Plus, it’s oil-free. With so little product being needed, the bottle will last a long time. I will absolutely consider repurchasing, unless something better comes along!
NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation retails for $48.00 for 1 oz.
