June Skincare Faves 2019

Aang! Hope your June has gotten off to a fantastic start!  For our people, June is “Iguugum Tugidaa,” or “Month when the birds are pulled from their burrows.” (I love the APICDA IG, as they’re so great about posting these things!)

It’s been a bit since we’ve posted, been busy with travel and family stuff- good family stuff, though!!! So, it’s been a nice break from our normal daily tasks.  Good to get back to our routine, but can’t wait to see more family- I miss our sweeties so much!

It’s also been a while since we’ve done a favorites post, but I had to do just skincare this time, because if I included makeup and hair, it would be HUUUUGGGEEEEE, so we’ll post about those separately soon!

Anywho, so for the time being, the skincare goodies that have been my go-to products lately are, in the order that I would use them following a shower…

Okay African Shea Butter

This stuff is more than just “okay,” this stuff is absolutely amazing.  I’ve always loved shea butter creams, so instead of using something with all those chemicals included, I decided to just go for the natural stuff.  It’s a bit dense, so when you first open the container, it takes a little effort to scoop some out, but it gets easier.  You can also warm it slightly- I leave it near the shower so the steam softens it a bit, and it’s ready to use when I step out.

I apply this straight out of the shower while my skin is still wet, and it does an superb job of locking in moisture.  It also has a very soothing, natural, nutty smell.  My skin stays soft, smooth, and hydrated all night long.  Plus, it’s only about six bucks at T.J. Maxx!

Pixi Skintreats Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel

If you’ve kept up with us, you probably already know that glycolic acid is one of my fave skincare ingredients, and it’s featured in this cleanser.  This is great to use following the brand’s Double Cleanse, and it helps lightly exfoliate to keep pores clean and skin glowing.

Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel doesn’t lather, but my skin still gets super clean, but without the lather, there’s no dryness or tight feeling.  Just super clean without being stripped of moisture.  And it’s very reasonably priced at PixiBeauty.com.

Mirth Beauty Antioxidant Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum

This is another T.J. Maxx find, it was only about five dollars, and I checked the ingredients- it’s chock full of good stuff. I may end up doing a separate review post on this stuff.  It’s marketed for dark spots, but with the ingredients it contains, it’s a perfect all-around anti-aging serum.

The formula has a light, fresh, natural scent, and it absorbs quickly and easily without being sticky.  Plus, you just can’t beat the price tag for something well-formulated.

Pixi DetoxifEYE Depuffing Eye Patches

I wrote about these miracle patches here, and they’ve been an absolute necessity lately with my horrific allergies.  It keeps “pollen-ing” outside, and my white car has been yellow lately.  I’ve had horrible sinus issues since I was a kid, and they’re much worse being stuck down here.

I stash these Depuffing Eye Patches in the fridge, and they help soothe and depuff my sore, swollen, allergy eyes.  I like that they’re all in one package, so there’s less waste, and you get a lot more for the price than the eye masks that are individually packaged.  Get them at PixiBeauty.com.

Omorovicza Magic Moisture Mist

This is my third bottle of this stuff!  If you like the benefits of a skin oil, but don’t like putting the actual oil on your face, or find oils too heavy under makeup, you need this mist!  This is like an “amped up” version of the brand’s cult fave Queen of Hungary Mist, but it has a small amount of oil, you shake and spray, and your skin is refreshed and hydrated.

This mist is very fine, so no big globs of liquid landing in your eyeballs…lol.  I’m outside a lot doing yard work and going for runs, and it gets HOT down here.  This is the perfect way to rehydrate and soothe my skin after being out in the harsh sun.  Available at Omorovicza.com and Nordstrom.com..

Ren Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream

Ren has long been a brand that I easily trust my skin to.  Their products are “clean,” and formulated without any bad stuff (parabens, petroleum products, etc.).  This moisturizer contains magnesium as well as Vitamin C, so it’s a great anti-aging product, helps stimulate collagen, and addressed hyperpigmentation, as well as leaves skin with a nice glow.

This gel cream is awesome- I have oily skin, so I love that this stuff just sinks in without feeling greasy or heavy.  I can also wear this under sunscreen without my skin feeling “suffocated” or like I have too much on.  Get it at RenSkincare.com.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream SPF 30

And last, but not least… Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream SPF 30icon!  My all-time fave anti-aging moisturizer is the Pro-Collagen Marine Creamicon from Elemis.  Well, they spent YEARS perfecting a version with SPF.  The reason it took so long is because they wanted to formula to have the same texture and consistency as the original.

The wait paid off, as this isn’t any heavier than the regular version.  It has a light gel-cream consistency, without the heaviness of most sun protection products.  It sinks in easily without any greasiness, which is amazing considering it’s a stellar anti-aging formula.  I can even pair with other moisturizers, and wear under makeup, with no problems. Get it from Elemis.comicon.

There are others that I have used lately and really enjoyed, but these are the ones I’ve consistently reached for on an almost daily basis.  I also have a few empties, so I’ll post about those soon, also.  And don’t forget to keep checking back as I’ll do some makeup and hair faves, too!

Have a fab week!
