Aang! Hi everyone- happy Thursday, the weekend is almost here!
As promised in our previous post, I’ve gathered some of my fave makeup items of the moment- the ones that have been my regular go-to products that I’ve been using the most. There are SO many great ones I’ve tried, but these have been consistently making their way into my routine lately. Here they are, in the order that I would normally put them on…
Coola Daydream Mineral Primer SPF 30
I started using the Coola Daydream Mineral Primer SPF 30 after I ran out my Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer– this is very similar, probably even better, especially for the price. The Coola has an SPF of 30, so when combined with other sun protection products, it’s easy to get the recommended amount onto your face. It lasts all day, costs less than Hourglass, and doesn’t separate the way the Hourglass seems to.
YENSA Skin on Skin BC Foundation BB + CC + Full Coverage Foundation SPF 40
This stuff is so amazing! I first got a sample of the YENSA Skin on Skin in my Ipsy Glam Bag, and ended up buying the full sized product right away- read about my experience here. Lately I’ve been using the Medium Warm shade, but I’m Unangax & St’at’imc, so my skin gets darker very quickly in the summer, especially since I’m outside a lot. So, I’ll likely end up grabbing another shade or two before summer is over.
Pixi Eye Reflection Shadow Palette in Natural Beauty
Pixi shadows are a must for anyone who likes to use eye makeup. Pixi shadows have more pigment than most drugstore brands, and similarly priced brands. The thing that’s so great about Pixi is the formulas are SO silky and SO blendable, even the matte shades. Plus, they’re very reasonably priced- I just can’t get enough of them! Get them at PixiBeauty.com.
Colorescience Eye & Brow Palette
I love the shade range in the Colorescience Eye & Brow Palette. With the variety, I can create a more natural, or a more dramatic look. I also like the lightest shade for highlighting under my brow bone. It also works for highlighting other areas in a pinch, or when I’m travelling and don’t want to carry a whole bunch of contouring products!
Winky Lux So Extra Mascara
When I want a really dramatic, big lash look but don’t want to use falsies, I usually go for Too Faced’s Better Than Sex . But for regular daily use, I don’t always want to look so “glam,” but I don’t want a really sedate look either. Winky Lux So Extra Mascara does an awesome job of volumizing and lengthening, so I my lashes look gorgeous and full, but without looking too overdone. It also wears well without flaking!
And last but not least- red lipsticks! My all time fave formula has always been the Lipstick Queen Velvet Rope shades, but they’re pretty pricey at about $50 each, and I’ve written about them before. When I want to wear a reasonably priced lipstick, there are so many other options- and reds have been my go-to lately. Can’t get enough! The two I’ve been wearing most are Ecco Bella REDvelation and MAC Ruby Woo.
Ecco Bella FlowerColor Lipstick in REDvelation
When I want something moisturizing but with a superb pop of color, Ecco Bella REDvelation is my current fave. I can get a fabulous red lip with a creamy finish, and it’s almost as hydrating as a balm. The natural formula leaves my lips softer after wearing than they were before swiping it on. Get it at EccoBella.com.
MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo
I kept hearing about this lipstick, but it’s not often I believe the hype. I noticed that every time I saw a gorgeous red on someone on social media, and asked what it was, it was almost always MAC’s Ruby Woo
The good thing about my current faves is that they’ll all work well for any season- so I can enjoy them year-round. Have you tried any of these? What are your current faves? Keep checking back, I’m working on an upcoming empties post!
Have a super-duper weekend!
