It’s Friday!!! Sadly, summer is over, so I’m kinda bummed about that, but at least summer will come again, and the holidays being around the corner mean I get to see all of our sweeties!
With fall here, drier weather is also arriving, so it’s the perfect time to re-evaluate your skin care routine and products. One product that I’ll be using pretty regularly is Juice Beauty’s GREEN APPLE Age Defy Moisturizer. This moisturizer was made for all skin types (except sensitive), for those in their 20s and up. It’s formulated to address dark spots, discoloration, uneven skin tone, and texture. Sounds pretty fab, huh?

GREEN APPLE Age Defy Moisturizer is chock full of fantastic ingredients. Malic acid from organic green apples helps to even out skin tone and texture; DMAE, peptides, alpha lipoic acid, Vitamin A, and CoQ10 help smooth the appearance of fine lines; organic aloe, jojoba, shea, primrose, borage, and linseed provide antioxidant-rich hydration; plant-derived sodium hyaluronate creates and plumping effect; and finally, Vitamin C helps fight free radicals (Juice Beauty, 2017).
Juice Beauty GREEN APPLE Age Defy Moisturizer is packaged in a cute high quality jar. The formula is creamy but light at the same time, easy to apply, and zero stickiness. Although I didn’t have any breakouts or clogged pores, I found this to be a bit much for my oily skin down here in the summer humidity of the south. But, it worked perfectly as a night cream- I woke up with ridiculously soft skin!
When we went to California, I took the GREEN APPLE Age Defy Moisturizer with me, and it worked perfectly during the day since it wasn’t as humid as it is down here. So, I know this will be a regular day cream when it gets cooler in the south.
While it looks nice on my counter, the jar packaging is really the only negative. When you repeatedly dip your fingers into a container, bacteria and moisture get in. Also, antioxidant products degrade when exposed to light and air, so exposure should be minimized (Kauer, Kapila & Agrawal, 2007). However, the ingredients are fantastic, so the packaging isn’t a deal breaker. Just use a spatula and store in a dark place, keeping the lid closed tightly; or better yet, transfer it into a bottle.
Another thing to keep in mind is that even though Juice Beauty’s products are formulated with natural and organic ingredients, they’re also active, powerful ingredients. As it contains alphahydroxy acids, it wasn’t designed for those with sensitive skin, rosacea, etc. If you have any doubts, ask your derm, do a test patch, and use with caution.
