Intro to Anti-Aging Skincare Video: No Makeup On

As I approached 40 years of age, I became more concerned with aging and skincare. I have never had any cosmetic surgeries or laser procedures. I had Botox Cosmetic injections for the last time this past winter. With Botox Cosmetic lasting approximately three months, it has long worn off.

When I saw the doctor for Botox, he and his staff stressed the importance of good skincare. If you don’t take care of your skin, you risk not only aging, but undoing all the treatments you have received. As my injections started to wear off, I became curious as to what kind of results I could get just through great skincare. Although Cindy Crawford looks great and I am envious of her, I wanted to prove that you don’t have to be famous like her in order to achieve great skin.

Currently, I have been able to reduce my fine lines, and I no longer have any major pigmentation issues.  I have a few areas of slight hyperpigmentation from past sun damage, but those areas are steadily improving, and I believe they will get even better with continued attention.  In regards to acne, I have been pretty much pimple-free, that is, until it came time to make this video- Murphy’s Law always seems to apply to me!

Nevertheless, I am very happy with my results thus far. Will I have Botox Cosmetic injections again? Absolutely- without a doubt, yes. Even if I don’t have any major wrinkles right now while my face is at rest, the injections can help prevent wrinkles from developing. My doctor is very conservative, and starts out using very little, and waits for a follow-up appointment to help you determine whether you want or need more. I trust him 100%, and Botox Cosmetic definitely has its place in the world of anti-aging.

For now, though, I am going to experiment to determine what works and what doesn’t, and I can’t get accurate, true results unless I am injection-free. Please keep in mind, though, that what works for me may not work for you, and vice versa. I am not a professional esthetician or doctor. Some procedures and products I have subjected myself to are available only through an esthetician or via prescription. If you are in doubt about any product, or have any sensitivities, please consult a professional.

Thank you, Jerry Carter, for helping me with this project- if it weren’t for you, it wouldn’t be possible!
