I got another surprise in the mail from Exuviance! This always pleases me because they’re one of my fave scientifically-proven brands of skincare. The brand was founded by Drs. Van Scot and Yu, the original patent-holders of the glycolic peel, or lunchtime peel. So, you know you’re getting some high-grade stuff!
This time, they sent the Sheer Refining Fluid SPF 35, which is exactly the kind of product I need! I have oily/combo skin; and so many sunscreens make my skin feel “suffocated” or greasy. This stuff is made for oily skin, so it hydrates and protects from UV without bogging it down. Woo-hoo!
Exuviance sheer Refining Fluid SPF 35 is purported to hydrate oily skin while reducing wrinkles and dark spots. This lightweight day moisturizer has been shown to even skin’s tone and texture, with 93% of users observing improvement in overall appearance after four weeks (NeoStrata, 2017).
The brand’s patented NeoGlucosamine exfoliates to promote cell turnover, while at the same time diminish dark spots and increase clarity. Exuviance Sheer Refining Fluid SPF 35 is housed in an opaque pump bottle. This is fantastic because it helps maintain efficacy and prevents degradation of the ingredients from exposure to light and air (Kaur, Kapila & Agrawal, 2007). So, you know you’re getting a potent “dose” every time.
The pump is easy to use, and you can dispense a little or a lot with no problems. At first, the consistency seems a bit thick, but no worries- it spreads and absorbs SO easily! It has a very light sunscreen fragrance that’s “barely there.” I also noticed that the active sunscreen ingredients are not mineral-based, so if you take a lot of selfies or do a lot of pics, there won’t such a horrific white cast. LOVE!
Let me just say, it’s HOT down here in Louisiana. And heat combined with oily skin is an inevitable disaster. There is NO product that single-handedly controls my oil, but the Sheer Refining Fluid did a great job. I made it a few extra hours before having to blot- so that’s HUGE!
