Despite summer being my favorite season, it’s HOT, so I only wear shorts. The problem with shorts is that my dry skin usually gets ashy, flaky and itchy. Uggghhh… not a pretty sight!
If you’ve been keeping up with the blog, you know how picky I am when it comes to skincare. If you read my review of Exuviance Glycolic Expert (found here), then you also know that glycolic acid is one of the most effective skincare ingredients, and Exuviance is one of my favorite brands.

This 10% glycolic acid/polyhydroxy acid formula exfoliates and hydrates the skin, and helps to increase cell turnover, reducing flaky, dry, rough skin on arms and legs. A PHA/Bionic blend, vitamin E, and shea butter add moisture and help strengthen the skin barrier. Furthermore, it’s appropriate for keratosis pilaris, and provides anti-aging benefits with continued use (Exuviance, 2016).
Exuviance Retexturing Treatment is housed in a sanitary, convenient squeeze tube. The tube is not only easy to use, but it’s opaque, so the ingredients are protected from degradation (Kaur, Kapila & Agrawal, 2007).
The Retexturing Treatment has a natural, light, fresh scent like the brand’s Glycolic Expert moisturizer. The main active ingredients are also similar, but the Retexturing Treatment is thicker. The formula is rich, but not so much so that it’s difficult to spread. The cream glides on effortlessly and is readily absorbed.
If you’re new to glycolic acid and other AHAs, it’s important to note that you may experience a bit of tingling or slight irritation until your skin adjusts to the ingredients. As Exuviance also includes high quality soothing ingredients, I didn’t experience any negative effects, just soft, smooth skin!
