As it turns out, our post about DIY face masks was a hit! (You can check it out here.) So, we decided to delve further into the DIY world and post some of our fave exfoliating recipes. Head on into the kitchen, grab an apron, and start creating!
Coconut Sugar Scrub
Coconut oil is a fantastic moisturizer, and helps nourish the skin, while the sugar does away with dull, dead skin cells.
-2 tablespoons sugar
-2 tablespoons coconut oil
Mix together, and massage into cleansed skin. I like to leave this on for about two minutes prior to rinsing to allow the nutrients from the coconut to absorb.

Lemon Brightening Scrub
The citric acid not only helps exfoliate, but also helps brighten the skin, while the oil has antibacterial properties in addition to antioxidants.
-3 tablespoons sugar
-2 tablespoons grapeseed oil
-1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
Mix together, gently massage onto cleansed skin for about two minutes, then rinse off.
Peppermint Lip Scrub
This is one of my all-time favorite lip exfoliants, I can’t get enough of it! It’s great to have on hand, especially when you wear a lot of matte lipsticks.
-1 tablespoon sugar
-1 tablespoon coconut oil
-1-2 drops peppermint oil
Mix together, and massage into lips to remove flakes. Rinse off, then apply coconut oil or lip balm for super soft lips!
As always, do a patch test prior to applying scrubs to your face. Even though the ingredients are natural, they may still be irritating if you have sensitive skin. Happy glowing!
