I do NOT have any interest whatsoever in aging gracefully. That’s why I started this blog. I like fun makeup looks, and a lot of those just aren’t suitable for more “mature” people. So, great skin care is absolutely imperative. No excuses!

As a skincare junkie, I squealed with delight when I got some Clearista Retexturizing Gel in the mail! According to Clearista, this tube of magical wonder stuff with exfoliating Ecobeads enables increased hydration and resurfacing upon application.

I know, I know, some of us have sensitive skin and many exfoliating beads cause irritation. Not these, they’re not just biodegradable, but they’re made of jojoba. So, this formula is not only effective, but it’s gentle, too.

Clearista Retexturizing Gel is designed to soften and smooth the skin, as well as target skin imperfections such as blemishes, bumps, dry or rough patches, fine lines and sun damage (Clearista, n.d.).

100% of test subjects noticed a difference in their skin after using Clearista. 97% agreed that their skin felt smoother and softer after one use. 97% would recommend Clearista to a friend (Clearista, n.d.). Now, I know many of you, after reading my skincare rant and watching my video, are wondering why in the heck I’m referring to consumer opinion…?

True, I don’t believe in consumer opinion by itself- but I think it’s great in conjunction with real research. Clearista has done both!   The company holds five patents, and double-blind clinical trials have been conducted at Therapeutics, Inc., in San Diego (Clearista, n.d.).

Clearista’s core technology platform was developed by scientists from MIT and UC Santa Barbara. The formula uses novel combinations of hydrophilic surfactants to disrupt the hydrogen bonds formed between keratin molecules at the skin’s surface (Clearista, n.d.). So, what the heck does this mean? Basically, the gel gets rid of cells you don’t want, while leaving the cells you do want. Make sense?

I love the packaging of Clearista Retexturizing Gel, it’s very sleek looking, and it’s one of my favorite colors!  The gel is housed in a tube, which is convenient, sanitary, and helps maintain freshness as opposed to a jar.  I do, however, wish the cap was a flip-top.  But, the screw-off cap isn’t enough to prevent me from loving the product.

As for performance, I’ve been really happy with Clearista Retexturizing Gel. The gel contains little beads made of jojoba that help exfoliate. It has a very slight, fresh smell, but since it’s barely discernible, it shouldn’t be a problem for those who don’t like fragrance. Also, despite my hypersensitive skin, I haven’t noticed any irritation.  While I haven’t been using this long enough to attest to the gel’s abilities to deal with fine lines or imperfections, it has resulted in really smooth, soft skin- and that’s a win in my book!

Whether you’re looking to reduce minor imperfections, or just want softer, smoother skin, Clearista Retexturizing Gel may be just what you need!  It’s available at Clearista.com.
