Aang- hi everyone! Hope your isolating/quarantining is going well, and that you’re all staying safe and healthy!
Due to our flooding (read about it here), a lot of stuff got misplaced in the shuffle, and I’ve run into a few things that were sent that I finally got to try. One package was a box from Derma E, and contained three Vitamin C products: Gentle Daily Cleansing Paste, Concentrated Serum, and Bright Eyes Hydro Gel Patches. I always get excited to try out new skincare, and the bright yellow on the packaging instantly lifted my mood!
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been trying to get outside even more than I normally do. The fresh air is not only good for breathing, but throw in some sunshine, and it’s a recipe for restoring the soul and uplifting moods. While we should always be protecting ourselves from harmful UV rays that can cause cancer and premature aging, the sun often results in drab skin and hyperpigmentation. This is where Vitamin C can come to the rescue!
Vitamin C Gentle Daily Cleansing Paste
Derma E Vitamin C Gentle Daily Cleansing Paste is purported to help reduce the appearance of uneven skin tone, revealing a beautiful, radiant complexion. The formula is enriched with golden turmeric to reduce blemishes and enhance natural glow, while ancient rice helps to gently remove dirt and dead skin cells.
The multi-tasking formula not only acts as a cleanser, but is also a mask that helps to gently exfoliate impurities, leaving the skin smooth and soft. To use as a cleanser, dampen your face and neck, then gently lather, rinse, and pat dry. To use as a mask, apply generously, leave on for 3-5 minutes or until dry, wet your fingers, massage, then rinse.
The cleanser is housed in an easy-to-use squeeze tube, so it’s pretty convenient. It has a light, fresh, natural scent that’s not annoying, so that’s always a plus. I thought it would be “grainier,” but the particles aren’t as big as I thought they’d be, which I’m SO glad. My skin is sensitive, so I don’t use harsh exfoliants on my face- I save those for my hands, knees, and elbows…lol. Still, I didn’t really massage this in deeply, I did it very lightly so as not to aggravate my skin.
When wearing a full face of makeup, I did need to use a separate makeup remover, as this wasn’t quite as effective as I’d like on its own. But then again, that’s why double and triple cleansing are so popular, right? With so many long-wearing makeup formulas on the market, it’s almost always a given that I will do at least a double!
Vitamin C Concentrated Serum
I’ve used the brand’s Vitamin C Renewing Moisturizer and really liked it (read about it here), so I was pretty excited to be able to try the Derma E Vitamin C Concentrated Serum. The serum is described as high-potency and fast-absorbing, delivering essential hydration and antioxidant protection. I really like that they use a more stable form of Vitamin C (sodium ascorbyl phosphate) that’s less likely to degrade prior to being absorbed by the skin.
Hyaluronic acid keeps skin hydrated, aloe helps soothe and detoxify, and Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps moisturize and improve texture. The pump bottle helps keep the ingredients safe from exposure to air, and is easy to use. There’s no stickiness, and the formula is easy to spread and absorbs nicely. I like that the texture is similar to a light lotion, as I will probably be able to use this alone without an additional moisturizer in the summer months- just sunscreen and go!
Vitamin C Bright Eyes Hydro Gel Patches
If you’ve read our blog regularly, you KNOW how much I LOVE eye masks! I have horrific allergies, and living in Louisiana has aggravated them ten-fold. So, I was super excited to get these Derma E Vitamin C Bright Eyes Hydro Gel Patches, couldn’t wait to get them on!
These crescent shaped hydro gel patches hydrate, brighten, and improve the appearance of the under-eye area with antioxidants, phyonutrients, and intense moisture. Puffy looking eyes are instantly transformed into wide-awake, well-rested eyes with the cooling gel material. Allantoin increases smoothness and moisture absorption, reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Caffeine is a strong antioxidant that not only reduces inflammation and puffiness, but also brightens the skin. Vitamins C and B3 target fine lines, dullness, and wrinkles while also brightening.
As much as I love eye masks, they can often be wasteful due to being packaged a single pair per packet. A few brands have been putting multiple sets in a jar lately, so that’s pretty awesome. There’s a second lid inside that keeps the masks from drying out, and a little spatula to take them out as needed, And… I’m not going to lie… I love the sparkles!
The eye masks are very soothing, especially on days when my eyes are puffy from all the pollen- and that’s been a LOT lately! I also like to stash these in the refrigerator so they work faster and are even more soothing. My skin is left brightened, soothed, and smoothed!
As always, I’ve been pretty happy with these products. My fave, by far, is the eye masks, because…allergies…lol! Plus, there’s the added bonus that Derma E products always tend to be reasonably priced! Check them out at dermae.com!
