Calling all lipstick lovers…. Yep, Bobbi Brown has released a new liquid lipstick- the Art Stick Liquid Lip!
First off, OMG, this packaging is just too adorable- it looks like the Art Sticks, but they’re actually squeezable tubes! How innovative is that…?
I’m not going to lie, when these came in the mail, I wanted to try them out right then and there. ALL of them. At the same time. Thankfully, I was able to control myself- although, I’m not sure how I managed that…lol!
We’ll be adding a video to our new YouTube channel about these in the next few days, so keep checking back. And don’t forget to click the red box below to subscribe! Thank you!
These new liquid lipsticks are purportedly super-pigmented, and wear for eight hours. They’re described as lightweight, and comfortable to wear, with a semi-matte finish. There are 16 shades that are true-to-color and last all day. Furthermore, these babies are supposed to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles- HELL. YES.
Left to right: Lily, Naked Pink, Azalea, Plum Noir, Cherry, English Rose, Pink Punch, Vintage Pink, Boysenberry, Rich Red, Uber Red, Papaya, Honey Bare
I received 13 of these cute crayon-shaped tubes, including Azalea, Pink Punch, Vintage Pink, Lily, Papaya, Uber Red, Plum Noir, Naked Pink, Boysenberry, English Rose, Cherry, and Rich Red. All of them were very pigmented and easy to apply.
The darker shades, such as Plum Noir, Boysenberry, and Cherry were a bit more streaky, but that’s to be expected with deeper shades. Applying a little bit extra solved the problem, and they looked fab. Naked Pink and Honey Bare were the easiest to apply evenly with just one coat.
The wear with Bobbi Brown Art Stick Liquid Lip is AH-MAZING. They’re silky smooth, not sticky, and very lightweight. There’s a very slight minty fragrance, but it’s not overwhelming, just fresh. But the best part? The formula is comfortable. It doesn’t suck the moisture out of my lips, and my lips aren’t left peeling and flaky- this makes me SO happy! Finally a highly-pigmented liquid lipstick that that doesn’t torture my lips!
While the applicator is very innovative (and did I mention adorable…?), it does seem to be a bit messy. To apply evenly along the lip line, the whole tip gets messy, and it has to be wiped off after using, which wastes a bit of product. That being said, the whole concept is pretty awesome, and I do like that I’m not constantly dipping a wand back into the product, which introduces bacteria and can cause the lipstick to spoil. Since it’s a squeeze tube, it’s more sanitary and will stay fresh longer.
It’s hard to pick out which one is my fave, I have several…lol! I’m loving Papaya, Vintage Pink, Uber Red, Naked Pink, and English Rose. While Bobbi Brown has been known for more natural, wearable looks, there’s a good variety, from bold to more sedated, so you should easily be able to find a shade (or five) you like. 😉
Bobbi Brown Art Stick Liquid Lip retails for $28 each. They’re available now at stores like Sephora and Nordstrom. Currently, they’re actually on SALE at Nordstrom for just $23.80 with FREE shipping (NO minimum), and there’s a GWP available with a minimum Bobbi Brown purchase. You may want to grab onto this deal pretty quickly, though, because I’m not sure how long it will last!
