If you’ve been following this blog, you likely know I’m not very girly. I usually don’t do pastels, but I wanted something bright and different for Spring.
My favorite color besides black is blue, mostly cobalt and vivid, bright blue. So, I chose to do a French-style manicure with blue tips!
First, I used a Deborah Lippmann moisturizing base coat, then an OPI top coat with 18-karat gold flecks. I painted the tips with Urban Decay’s Chaos nail enamel, a bright metallic blue. Finally, I used Nails Inc. Caviar Top Coat to seal it all.
Although it was difficult to capture to effect of the 18-karat gold flecks, they really did a great job of capturing the light and making the shine stand out!
Wanna know something crazy? I forgot to take pics after I did my nails, so these photos were taken two days later, AFTER lifting weights, and doing a day of yard work, including gardening, chopping limbs, pulling weeds, etc., all WITHOUT gloves. Woo-hoo!
