Beauty Box 5: February 2016

Beauty Box 5 4

pr sample small 2

If you’ve been keeping up with this blog, you know how much I LOVE subscription boxes!  Part of the thrill is the surprise and pleasure of unboxing; and the goodies are almost always worth a lot more than what you paid for the box!

Beauty Box 5 1

When Beauty Box 5 sent me a box to review, I opened it up and was like OH. EM. GEE.  Watch out Ipsy and Birchbox!  The box itself was really cute, and I couldn’t wait to open it up!  When I did, it felt like it was my birthday, with the turquoise and pink shred inside- they really make you feel special!

If you check out the Beauty Box 5 website, they do tend to have a few more drugstore brands than some other subscriptions, BUT, if you pay by the year (just $8.25 per box!), this is probably the lowest priced subscription I have seen.  Even at the monthly price of only $12, you will still get a lot more than what you pay for.   Another awesome thing is that there was a little card inside telling about a contest where you can post a pic on Instagram, and win full sizes of all five featured products!

So what all was inside?  I received the following items in the February Beauty Box 5:

Beauty Box 5 3

Manna Kadar Beauty 3-in-1 Shadow, Highlight & Blush in Fantasy (Full Size)- I have heard about Manna Kadar, and have been wanting to try her products, so I was super excited to see this!  This is a full-size product with a retail value of $19, so this alone is worth the price of the box.

Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eye Shadow Primer (Deluxe Size)- I got one of these in another subscription a couple months ago, and loved it!  I’m just about out, so I was happy to get this.  And yes, this size lasts over a month- a tiny bit goes a long way!

Starlooks Custom Lip Liner in Sultry Sangria (Full Size)- I had never heard of this brand, so I was anxious to play around with it.  It retails for $16, so yet another score!  And (spoiler alert)  I’ll tell ya a secret… it’s SO friggin’ awesome, I even did a little video showing how pigmented this is, so keep checking back!

Epic Blend Premium Lip Balm in Hemp Blueberry (Full Size)- I love, love, LOVE lip balms, especially the ones that are natural and organic.  With the dry winter weather, I go through these like crazy, and can’t wait to try this!

Hemp Nation Kiwi-Mango Body Wash (Small Retail Size)- Omg this stuff smells so good- makes me think I’m back on vacation at the beach!  I took another shower as soon as I smelled this just so I could try it, and I seriously did not want to get out.  Retail value is $7.99.

Beauty Box 5 7

Beauty Box 5 did a great job; I was not unhappy with any of the items.  Just four of the five items have a retail value of $46.48, and they were all superb, so this box was definitely worth more than what you pay.  While I was impressed with all the items, I was SO excited about the Manna Kadar 3-in-1 and the Starlooks lip liner that I am doing separate posts about them!  Thank you, Beauty Box 5!

The price?  The versatile subscription plans give Beauty Box 5 an advantage over other subscriptions.  You can subscribe on a month-to-month basis for just $12 a month with free shipping, and you can cancel any time.  A quarterly subscription is just $30, so that is $10 per box; and a yearly subscription is $99, making each box just $8.25.

So, what’s the verdict?  With the various subscription plans available, and size/quality of the items, along with the cute packaging (yes, I’m a sucker for adorable packaging), Beauty Box 5 could easily end up being one of my top fave beauty subscriptions!
