Hey, everyone! Hope you’re all having a stupendous winter! I’m SO ready for the cold weather to be OVER. On a good note, I’ve been testing out a great new product from HydroPeptide. New skincare products that work always make my life easier and happier!

After being really happy with the HydroPeptide products I tried previously (see this post),I was pleased to get my hands on the brand’s new LumaPro-C brightening facial serum.

This serum purportedly brightens your complexion with a safe, drug-free pigment corrector that helps minimize all types of hyperpigmentation, including sun damage, age spots, acne, and hormonal discoloration. A potent combination of three peptides helps improve overall radiance while reducing pigmentation activity (HydroPeptide, 2016).

Key active ingredients in HydroPeptide’s LumaPro-C include DermalRX SRC, stable Vitamin C, and Algaktiv LightSKN. DermalRX SRC helps break down hyperpigmented cells, enhancing texture and brightness. Algaktiv LightSKN, a blend of microalgae, is clinically proven to brighten age spots. Finally, BV-OSC is the most stable and effective form of Vitamin C available (HydroPeptide, 2016).

As for what’s NOT in LumaPro-C? The formula is free of artificial fragrance, parabens, gluten, PEGs, phenoxyethanol, sulfates, and phthalates (HydroPeptide, 2016). So, you get all the good stuff, and none of the bad. I’m in!

HydroPeptide LumaPro-C is housed in a sanitary pump bottle. This not only protects the ingredients from degradation caused by light and air exposure, but it also eliminates the need to repeatedly dip your fingers into a jar. The formula has a light, natural, citrus smell, like fresh grapefruit (very energizing and uplifting, by the way!). I love scented skincare products, but even those who don’t shouldn’t have a problem because it’s natural and dissipates quickly.

HydroPeptide claims that only one pump is needed, and I concur. I love that it’s concentrated enough that a little bit goes a long way- this makes it a lot easier to justify the $148 price tag. One pump does, indeed, cover my face and most of my neck, so the bottle will last a LONG time.

HydroPeptide Lumapro C Before

Before HydroPeptide LumaPro-C

I have relatively few problems with hyperpigmentation, thanks to great skincare products and procedures. But, I do have a few discolored areas as a result of hormones (medication). I also have a dark spot from a huge pimple that I had shortly before trying this serum. I’ve used 4% hydroquinone in the past, and the LumaPro-C worked faster. I had a reduction in the hyperpigmentation, and more luminous skin, in just a few weeks.

HydroPeptide Lumapro C After

After using HydroPeptide LumaPro-C for three weeks

While the hydroquinone smelled like bleach, the LumaPro-C smelled like fresh citrus, and I had no irritation whatsoever. The serum went on smoothly, and absorbed easily. I had no issues with wearing it under any of my moisturizers, or under makeup.

Overall, HydroPeptide LumaPro-C performed extremely well, and if you have any form of hyperpigmentation, it’s well worth trying. Check it out at HydroPeptide.com.
