Hey everyone! Did you know that Oakley has a discount program for active duty military, veterans, and first responders? Well, they do!
A while back, when I was a deputy coroner and chief death investigator, I heard about the program through a friend, whose brother signed up. I was surprised to find, though, that not very many of the law enforcement officers I worked with knew about the program.
Being in situations such as combat and law enforcement activities, like the shooting range or being on duty, can result in the need for high-quality eye wear. Many activities require shatter-resistant eye protection for safety, as well as good quality polarized lenses, etc. The problem is that a lot of these types of eye wear can be extremely pricey.
As a veteran, even though I was a non-combatant (medical), Oakley’s sunglasses were quite popular for physical training exercises, and field activities. As a deputy coroner and death investigator, they were great at the range- offering protection from both the sun and hazards of shooting. Plus, while doing scene investigations, we were often in the middle of the woods, tromping through the swamp, walking along the highway with the glaring sun- any number of odd situations.
So, it makes me feel good that Oakley cares about these groups of people, and offers their products at reduced prices. The program is FREE for military (active duty and veterans), government, law enforcement, fire, and EMS professionals. To apply, simply fill out the application on their site, and send in the required documentation. A short while later, if approved, you’ll receive an email with instructions for logging in and purchasing. That’s all there is to it!
If you’re military or a first responder, head over to OakleySI.com now and sign up! If you’re not in one of these categories, please keep the info in mind to share with any of your loved ones who may qualify!
