Yu-Be Skincare was founded in 1957 by a pharmacist named Yoshikiyo Nowatari. He created a moisturizing cream at the request of a woman who had been suffering from dry, cracked skin. She was tired of greasy, ineffective, petroleum-based products, so Nowatari instead developed a glycerin-based cream. This cream has gone on to be one of the best-selling skincare products in Japan over the past 57 years. Fortunately, it’s available here in the states!
I suffer from idiopathic urticaria (hives that occur for no known reason), and often have dry, itchy skin. Needless to say, I was very happy when I received a package of products from Yu-Be. I really like the packaging, simple and easy to read. Also, it’s tamper-evident, so you know you’re getting a product that is fresh and never opened by someone in a store. (It always scares me to think someone could have contaminated a product from an unsealed box!)
In addition to skin moisturizers and exfoliants, there is also a petroleum-free lip balm. This should come in VERY handy, especially with all the matte lipsticks I’ve been wearing lately. I will update as soon as I try these products out, so make sure to subscribe and keep checking back!
Update- October 8, 2015: After testing Yu-Be skincare for several days, I am very impressed. I’m so happy to find effective, natural products that do not contain petrolatum! You can get these products at Sephora.com or directly from Yu-Be by clicking here. Here are the links for the product reviews:
