Winky Lux Eyes!

Happy weekend, everyone!   It was another rainy Friday, and another wet run, but I finished the whole thing despite water-logged shoes.  Wet shoes and socks are the worst part of a rain run; other than that, I’m wet from sweat anyway, so it doesn’t really matter…lol!

Anywho, have you heard of Winky Lux?  They have some of the most beautiful lipsticks and glosses at Sephora, but they also have some pretty darn fab eye products, too!  I’ve heard great things about the brand, but had never tried anything from them before, so I was excited to receive a package with the Royal Kitten Eyeshadow Palette, Feliner Eyeliner in Bow Tie, So Extra Velvet Plush Mascara, and the Uni-Brow Pencil.

First off, if you’ve kept up with us, you know I’m a sucker for packaging, and Winky Lux certainly has lux style!  The palette is glittery, the liner is a sleek black with metallic gold print, the mascara is a royal purple color with gold print and eye graphics, and the brow pencil is a super sleek lux gold. Heck, even the box they shipped it in is gorgeous- you’ll definitely feel like a pampered princess!

The Royal Kitten Palette contains nine gorgeous shades, they’re super pigmented, and go on smoothly, and blend out easily.  Even the matte shades go on with such ease, they’re all a pleasure to use.  I’m not usually a fan of pinks, but the “Crown Jewels” shade jumped out at me right away- it’s more of a deeper color, almost a red, and I couldn’t wait to try it out!  It looks amazing, especially when blended with some of the deeper shades.

I love the selection of shades, as I can create neutral, more sedate day time looks, as well as more bold evening looks, such a wide variety of possibilities.  The shadows all seem to be pretty true to color, and they’re long wearing.  I got at least ten hours of wear with primer, and it probably would have lasted even longer if it hadn’t been time to go to bed, and having to wash my face…lol.

The Feliner Eyeliner is so creamy, it glided on like a liquid liner, but was easier to control than a liquid.  So, you can get the same effect without having to worry as much about messing up.  If you’re new to doing wings, you should check out this liner.  It’s also very black, and long lasting, too!

The So Extra Mascara really IS extra- I got extra length, as well as volume.  It’s difficult to find a mascara that will do both, and do it well.  I got nearly a false lash effect (although some of my lashes were crooked from the way I slept…lol) with just 1 coat.  I had no problem with flaking, either, so this is definitely a win.

The Uni-Brow Pencil not only looks super lux and sleek, but the name is just too cute.  Especially for me, considering I have to groom my brows regularly or I really will have a uni-brow…lol!  I don’t know how they did it, but the shade really does seem universal.  I was a bit worried at first, because I have very dark hair and brows, but it blended in very well.

One end has a spoolie, which is very convenient, as I ALWAYS use a spoolie when doing my brows.  The shape of the “business end” is like a chisel, but skinnier on end, thicker on the other.  This makes it easy to cover a broader area when filling in sparse areas, or get a thinner line to mimic brow hairs.

My overall first experience with Winky Lux has been fantastic- very pleased with everything, and I can’t wait to try more from the brand.  Plus, it’s all very reasonably priced, especially for the decent quality, performance, and fancy-schmancy packaging!  Check it all out at WinkyLux.com!
