Try Something Edgy and Daring for Fall!

me2

I needed to review a foundation and lipstick, so I decided to try something a bit dramatic.  I just cannot get excited for Fall, but I LOVE Halloween, so I went for BOLD.

I prepped my skin with Dior HydraLife Youth Sorbet Crème moisturizer and Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer.  I wanted to use a lighter foundation than normal so I could create a stark contrast, but not so light that it didn’t look natural.  So, I opted for Hourglass Immaculate Foundation in Nude.  I used a slight bit of NARS Laguna bronzer around the perimeter of my face just to help the lighter foundation look a bit more natural.  Since Immaculate is a liquid to powder formula, I skipped using a setting powder. To finish my face, I used NARS blush in Deep Throat on the apples of my cheeks.

I used It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil for my brows, and filled in a bit with Anastasia’s Brow Powder in Medium Brown.  For my eyelids, I used Lorac’s Behind The Scenes Eye Primer, followed by Urban Decay cream eyeliner, applied with an Urban Decay Perversion angled liner brush.  Using this type of liner and brush allowed me to really pack it into my lash line.  I smudged the liner to give it a smoky effect.

To make the eyeshadow easy, all colors were from the Urban Decay Vice 3 palette.  I first swept Last Sin all over, from lash line to brow bone.  Then, Bondage on my lids, Revolver in the creases, and a bit of Sonic in the center of my lids.  I also applied Revolver underneath my eyes, smudging and blending a bit with the liner.  For my shadows, I used It Cosmetics for Ulta Velvet Lux All Over Shadow brush, and It Cosmetics for Ulta Velvet Lux Effortless Crease brush.

For my lashes, I first used Benefit’s Roller Lash for curl and definition, then layered the new Diorshow over it for volume.  However, I did not use any mascara on my lower lashes.  Finally, for lips, I lined with Too Faced liner in Perfect Spice, then applied Urban Decay’s Matte Revolution Lipstick in Blackmail.  After applying one coat, I blotted with a tissue, then applied a second coat.  (Tip- if you are going to use a matte lipstick, be sure to exfoliate and moisturize well with a good lip balm prior to applying lipstick!)

Well, after looking in the mirror, I’m still not ready for Fall.  But I am excited for Halloween- but then I would like for it to go back to summer!
