Well, today is a GREAT day for beer! Although, I haven’t had any yet. Sad but true. I really have no life. Guess I need to work on that a bit.
Anywho, my beloved alma mater, the Iowa State Cyclones won their first round of March Madness against Iona with a final score of 94-81. The weird thing is, even though they won this game, they still lost the quarterfinals in the conference tournament. Last year, ISU was the Big 12 conference champ, but they lost in the NCAA first round against UAB. This was a huge upset considering ISU was ranked as the better team.
At the end of the game, senior star player Georges Niang was being interviewed, and said he couldn’t sleep last night because he had nightmares about last year’s loss against UAB- poor thing! At least they played really well, it will be interesting to see how far they make it this year under the new coach, Steve Prohm. Previous coach, and ISU basketball alum, Fred Hoiberg was given a five year contract to be the head coach of the Chicago Bulls. (FYI- I went to ISU at the same time as Hoiberg, so it’s pretty nifty that I can say went to school with the Bulls’ coach. Think he remembers me…???? Lol… 😉 )
Now, on to the St. Patty’s Day eye makeup… I was planning on wearing Kat Von D Plan 9 (green) lipstick (read more here and here), but in honor of the Cyclones, I opted for a classic red with Lipstick Queen Velvet Rope in Brat Pack (read more here). So, that meant I would be doing green with my eyes!
I decided to shop my own stash and used the Urban Decay Theodora palette- it’s got some greens and a gorgeous muted gold that all worked perfectly for today. I also used Stila’s liquid eyeliner in Spectrum, which is like a pewter-ish black with glitter, to add some pizazz.
I used the new Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation in Medium Neutral, which I like better today over the Cargo primer rather than the Becca primer I used with it before (more information here). I also used Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish powder, Sephora gel concealer in Éclair, NARS Laguna bronzer, NARS blush in Deep Throat, Josie Maran Argan Illuminizing Veil, Anastasia brow powder, and Urban Decay Perversion mascara.
It’s now 7:40pm, and I still haven’t had that beer. Probably going to go grab one just so I can feel like I did something to celebrate St. Patty! And hopefully Georges Niang will sleep better tonight!
