Hey you guys, hope you’re having a great winter! As much as I loathe the cold weather, I’ve gotten to try a lot of great products to help get me through the dreariness.
I’ve had the privilege of trying out a new skincare system for the décolleté. Unfortunately, this is one of those areas that many of us neglect, myself included- guilty as charged! SiO (pronounced see-oh) has come out with a great new skincare system specifically made to reduce the visible signs of aging in this area. Hellooooo, low cut tops! The system consists of Decollete Cleansing Discs, SkinPad, and Decollete Serum.
Decollete Cleansing Discs
These cleansing pads are used in the evening, before applying the SiO SkinPad, to help remove dead skin cells and allow the SkinPad to adhere better. Active ingredients include lactic acid and glycolic acid, which exfoliate and brighten the skin, as well as help clear pores. Ideally, the discs should be used about half an hour before applying the SkinPad. To use, gently wipe the chest area in a circular motion, ensuring you clean the entire area the pad will cover.
Although the skin on my face is accustomed to glycolic and lactic acid peels, my chest is not. I regularly use moisturizers and cleansers with these ingredients, but in lower concentrations. Therefore, I thought I may have a bit of sensitivity, but that wasn’t the case. I didn’t even have a tingling sensation, so I was very happy! But, you’ll probably want to do a test patch just to make sure, especially if you’re not used to these ingredients in that area.
SiO SkinPad Overnight Decollete Wrinkle Smoother
The SiO SkinPads are based on technology used by plastic surgeons. The silicone pad is worn on the cleavage area at night to comfortably address fine lines and wrinkles caused by sun damage, natural aging, and gravitational pull from side sleeping. Each medical grade silicone pad can be used up to 15 times.
I’ll admit, I was a bit apprehensive as I thought the pad may be uncomfortable. As it turns out, my fears were unfounded. After a few minutes, the silicone pad became the same temperature as my skin, and I didn’t even realize it was there. It wasn’t irritating or cumbersome in any way. I completely forgot I had it on until I got dressed in the morning…lol!
Decollete Serum
The SiO Decollete Serum Morning Wrinkle Smoothing Hydrator not only hydrates, but helps prevent the signs of aging by relaxing the skin and redefining fine lines and wrinkles. Additionally, the skin’s surface is tightened and firmed for softer, younger, smoother looking skin. The formula contains high quality ingredients such as shea butter, coconut oil, hyaluronic acid, and botanicals. Furthermore, stevioside acts to minimize future wrinkles, trehalose locks in moisture to improve firmness, and red algae is an effective skin youth creator.
The Decollete Serum is applied in the morning after removing the SkinPad. Simply massage 2-3 pumps into a clean chest and neck, using an upward motion. The serum was easy to spread and readily absorbed. It didn’t feel greasy or sticky at all. My skin felt smooth and hydrated throughout the day.
Overall, I am very pleased with the SiO skincare system. The only negative is that the products are a bit pricey, but they’re effective and high quality. I haven’t really experienced any wrinkling yet in my chest area, but I DO sleep on my side, so this is a huge concern. I feel like this system is a good match for me because it’s easier to prevent wrinkles than it is to get rid of them.
