Hey all!  It’s Wednesday, hope you’re all faring well.  Harvey has made his way here to Louisiana, so far, all we have is a lot of rain and a bit of standing water in our area.  We’re keeping Texas, Louisiana, and those affected in our thoughts.

If you’ve kept up with our website, you probably already know that Omorovicza is a brand that I fell in love with long before we ever started blogging.  The brand was created utilizing the water from the thermal spas in Budapest, Hungary.

I’ve also really been into overnight masks lately, and Omorovicza has released the Midnight Radiance Mask, so as you can imagine, I was pretty darn excited when they sent this to me to try out!

I have oily/combination skin, so I love that the Omorovicza mask is perfect for oily skin.  It contains salicyclic acid, one of my fave skincare ingredients.  It’s oil soluble, so it can penetrate more deeply into pores.  It’s also a mild exfoliant, so it helps promote cell renewal while addressing hyperpigmentation and other issues.

The formula is purported to reduce pigmentation, reduce sebum production, and smooth and soften the skin (Omorovicza, 2017).  The formula is housed in a beautiful, frosted glass jar.  I know, jar packaging, right?  Well, this isn’t an antioxidant product- its main active ingredient is salicyclic acid, so I’m not really concerned with degradation.  Just be sure to use a spatula or clean fingers when applying to avoid contamination.

Other ingredients include sand lily to reduce dark spots by inhibiting melanin production, red alga and sodium hyaluronate to lock in moisture, copper gluconate to regulate sebum production, and Omorovicza’s patented Healing Concentrate delivery system to leave skin more supple, firmer, and younger looking (Omorovicza, 2017).

This mask is to be used at night, after cleansing and toning.  Simply spread it onto your skin, and leave it on overnight.  The formula is a light blue color with a fresh, natural scent.  If you’re sensitive to fragrance, no worries, there is nothing artificial.   The smell dissipates pretty quickly following application, so it’s not annoying.

Omoroviza recommends using the Midnight Overnight Mask two or three times per week.  But, since salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid, is more gentle than alpha hydroxy acids, I decided to use it every night.  Despite my sensitized skin from using tretinoin, I had no irritation.  (I’m accustomed to BHA products, though, so don’t try this yourself until you know how your skin will react.)

After I wash my face in the morning, my skin is soft and smooth.  While I can’t attest to really long-term results, after about a week of use, my skin looks bright and glowing, and I have fewer clogged pores.  It’s nice when I do extractions and there isn’t really anything there to extract!

The only negative is that the mask can seem a bit pricey, but like all Omorovicza products, a tiny bit goes a LONG way, and the full-sized jar of this would easily last me six to nine months, maybe even longer.  So, it’s a lot more affordable and luxurious than getting extractions.  And it’s not painful, either…lol!
