Aang aang! How is your September so far? I don’t want the summer to end- I can’t believe it’s September already! My ancestors referred to this month as Ugnam Tugidaa, or “month when sea mammals become skinny” (APICDA, 2019). Unfortunately, it’s never been the month that has made me skinny…lol!
One of the biggest trends in skincare is “clean skincare,” as in products that are made without “dirty” petroleums, silicones, parabens, etc. In other words, nothing nasty or chemical-ly! With growing interest in caring for Mother Earth and our environment, companies are now investing more time and resources into creating clean skincare formulas that actually PERFORM well.
As much money as I’ve spent at Sephora, I have to admit that while they’ve done a great thing with their “Clean at Sephora” category, they’re a bit behind the times. I have a “thing” for soaps. I have urticaria, and tend to get really itchy skin. I also get really dry skin everywhere except my face, despite living in humid Louisiana. So… I LOVE good shower products. This UpCircle Fennel + Cardamom Chai Soap Bar is formulated with green clay to remove toxins, and shea butter to soften. It also has chai spices, so I’m betting it smells divine!

Serums are one of those steps that’s worth a higher investment- they’re usually thinner so they absorb well, and they remain on the skin.
