Happy Friday! Well, I guess it’s Saturday now, isn’t it?
Most people who know me know that I’m not a huge sports fan- I particularly loathe football. I mean, I’d rather drink yak piss than watch football. But, when it comes to basketball, I’m a HUGE fan- particularly when it comes to my beloved alma mater, the Iowa State Cyclones!
Well, after finishing out the season ranked #2 in the Big 12, we’re now almost done with the conference tournament. The Cyclones beat OSU Thursday night, TCU Friday night, and will be facing off against Press Virginia, I mean West Virginia, in the Big 12 Championship tonight at 5pm CST. To show my spirit from afar, I decided to do a cardinal and gold manicure to honor the Cyclones.

To start, I prepped my nails with a Deborah Lippmann base coat, then used a Sephora OPI red. I usually use my Formula X VIB Rouge red, but I couldn’t find it, and I noticed this one at the bottom of my box, so I tried it. Then I did my tips with a white from Essie. I went over the white with a shimmery yellow gold by Zoya called “Kerry,” then finished off with my Nails Inc. Caviar top coat. Easy-peasy!
Headed to bed now, and I’ll be dreaming of a Cyclone victory! Let’s go State!
