It’s hump day again! Hope you’re all having a fabulous week!

When I was a teen, I thought the best way to “tone” my face was to use those cheap astringents, you know, the ones that burned because they’re full of alcohol? I figured that with oily skin and acne, the more I dried out my skin, the better, right? I couldn’t have been more wrong!

I was reading through some teenager magazine, and found that the strong alcohol could actually make my acne worse, and cause more inflammation. I ended up getting an alcohol-free toner, and started noticing a difference right away.

Later on, when I was in tech school, I learned about pH, and the differences, such as isotonic, hypertonic, and hypotonic, and why pH level was important when it came to our bodies. This also applies to our skin!

It doesn’t matter what kind of skin you have, you can benefit from using the appropriate toner for your skin type, because it will help balance the pH. I recently starting testing out the Michael Todd Cranberry Antiox Hydrating Antioxidant Toner, because, well, who wouldn’t want a toner that has the added benefit of antioxidants in addition to balancing pH?

Michael Todd Cranberry Antiox toner 3 ingredients

This natural, antioxidant-rich toner is formulated with cranberry concentrate, vitamins A, B and C, acai, and black willow bark, all in a hydrating base of 100% organic aloe vera leaf juice. OMG, these ingredients are so amazing- I couldn’t wait to wash my face just so I could use this stuff!

The cranberry concentrate and acai extract provide antioxidants to help protect the skin’s youthful appearance. Vitamins B, C, and A help increase radiance and brighten the complexion. Black willow bark promotes balance for a more even look, as well as improves the appearance of tone, texture, and pores, while removing excess oil. Finally, the base of organic aloe vera leaf juice moisturizes and soothes (Michael Todd, 2016).

The first thing I noticed about this toner is the way it smells- it has a very light, natural, fruity scent. Not fake, not overpowering, it’s obvious that it’s from the natural ingredients. The best part, though, is when I put it on my skin, it felt hydrating, and there was no irritation whatsoever.

I have oily/combination skin, but it’s sensitive from using tretinoin. So, I need a product that will balance the oil and dryness, but won’t irritate or inflame. The Michael Todd Cranberry Antiox effectively met these needs. With the antioxidants, I really think this could also serve as an essence, because it has ingredients that benefit rather than just balance. It even had a bit of a plumping effect, and my skin was soft and smooth, with all the residue gone at the same time.

Overall, this is a fabulous toner- I’m very pleased with the results, especially for the price. I’d been using a similar product that cost almost twice as much, so I’m very happy to have “discovered” this. If you need a nice, natural toner that has some great, beneficial ingredients, look no further than Michael Todd!
