Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water uses Izumo natural spa water and contains natural herbal essences. It is mildly acidic and oil-free. The company claims that the skin is protected by six herbs, such as rosemary leaf extract, sage extract, and others. While it is rinse-free and oil-free, it is still supposed to remove even waterproof makeup.
I was acne-prone as a teenager, and now live in a tropical climate, so I’m a big believer in double cleansing, sometimes even triple! One of my favorite aspects of this spa water is that it is non-irritating and very gentle; the bottle says it’s even safe enough for use when wearing contact lenses. For those who wear very light make-up, or no make-up, this may be adequate on its own. Although this product is marketed as having the ability to remove all makeup and impurities, I still don’t feel quite as clean as I like, without following up with a cleanser and my Clarisonic. However, for those days when I do full make-up (for special occasions, etc.), this is excellent as a pre-cleanse. This is also great for taking care of mishaps and smudges. If you are too tired to wash your face after a night out, this is better than nothing!
