That’s EXACTLY what I said to myself. When I logged into Ipsy’s site to learn about the July Glam Bag, they were all about some new mascot. A mascot that is apparently called “Gudetama.” I was like WTF…?!?! I had never heard of this thing, didn’t have an effing clue what the heck it was supposed to mean or be. Was it a thing? A who? A what?
I looked up this “Gudetama,” and apparently it’s an egg. Yes, an EGG. I still don’t understand it- I just don’t “get” it. But, whatever. Life goes on, and so does Ipsy! (I will admit the back side of the bag is kinda cute, like a chicken, with the little Goof-a-rama’s booty!)
The other thing I noticed is that they included a little booklet describing a new cash-back program. If you subscribe to Ipsy, you can go to their site and make purchases, and get cash back! Nifty, huh? For example, if you buy one of the new Bobbi Brown highlighters, you get $12.00 back! They’ll either send a check or deposit it directly into your PayPal account! Can’t beat that like an egg! (I couldn’t resist…lol.) If you zoom in on the pic at the bottom, you can see some of the cash back amounts you can get, all sorts of great brands and goodies qualify- the pic is only one page of the book!
So, now for the actual July Glam Bag!!! I was pretty pleased with the items in my bag, a good mix of skincare and makeup. I got:
-Puretem Purevera Emulsion– I’ve only tried one other item from this brand, and I thought it was a nice product. I like aloe, so I’m looking forward to using this.
-Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel– I’ve really been wanting to try this, but haven’t had the chance to yet, so I’m super excited about getting this!
-OFRA Cosmetics Gold Rush Eyeshadow– I like the OFRA shadows I have, so I’m loving that I got this. The shade is gorgeous, plus it’s full size!
-So Susan Blender Brush– I tried a blush from this brand thanks to Ipsy, now they sent me a brush, which is awesome. It’s also pretty sleek looking!
-Trifle Cosmetics Raspberry Ripple Ombre Radiance Blush Palette– Another full size product! The shades are pretty, and I’ve never tried this brand, so I’m glad I got it.
The best part? THREE full size products- The OFRA eyeshadow retails for $12.00, the So Susan brush retails for around $17.00, and the Trifle blush palette is $17.95. The price of Ipsy? TEN BUCKS. WITH FREE SHIPPING. Yep, that’s right. You can subscribe to Ipsy Glam Bag for just $10 a month, free shipping, and you can cancel ANY time. You will ALWAYS get more than your money’s worth!
