At first, I was really kind of disappointed with Birchbox. As an “Ace,” I am supposed to get “first dibs” on box choices, and I wanted the Eyeko liquid eyeliner. Nevertheless, it was out of stock already when I went to make the selection, as soon as I saw the email!
However, I ended up selecting the K-Beauty curated box, and it actually seems pretty fabulous! My box included:
re:p. Bio Fresh Mask with Real Calming Herb– This is a wash-off mask made with natural herbs that are supposed to calm and hydrate the skin. As I have never heard of this brand, I am looking forward to trying it out!
Goodal Waterest First Essence– I’ve really grown to like “essences” as opposed to toners. They not only balance the skin’s pH, but they also act as treatments.
Tony Moly Tony Tint Delight– I’ve tried the Tony Moly sheet masks and lip balm. While I liked the masks okay for the price, I LOVE the lip balm, so this tint seems promising.
IPKN Flash Cream Radiant Primer– Yet another brand I’m not familiar with. I love primers, so this will be fun to try out!
Manefit Cucumber Soothing + Moisturizing Mask– Have I ever mentioned how much I love sheet masks…?!?!? Lol! I had to restrain myself so I wouldn’t immediately open this up and try it!
Goodal Phyto Wash Yerba Mate Cleansing Foam and Bubble Peeling– I’m not familiar with Goodal, but these little sample packets look interesting. The disadvantage with k-beauty is that the products often don’t have instructions in English. I handed this to my hubby and asked him to please ‘splain to me how to use- after staring at it for a while, he said, “Well, it looks to me like you’re supposed to hold your hands up in front of your face, like on ‘Home Alone,’ and maybe smack yourself.” Lololololol… guess I’m going to have to Google this one!
While I’m still sad that I missed out on the Eyeko liner, I’m pretty satisfied with this month’s box overall. Now, just gotta go Google those packets…
