After trying out, and loving, the Michael Todd Grape Seed Cleansing Oil (see review here), I was thrilled to get the opportunity to try out the brand’s Charcoal Detox Deep Pore Gel Cleanser.

If you don’t see a YouTube video above, click here.

Michael Todd Charcoal Detox is formulated with activated charcoal, tea tree, balancing botanical extracts, and organic aloe vera leaf juice.  One of the awesome things about Michael Todd products is that they don’t use any cheap fillers- not even water.  Instead of just adding plain water, they use the organic aloe, which adds nutrients to benefit the skin.
Michael Todd Charcoal Detox helps to remove residue that can clog pores, along with excess oil.  It also removes deep impurities and preps the skin for additional products and treatments.

I have oily/combination skin, so I need the appropriate products.  At the same time, if I use a product that’s too drying, it will only aggravate my skin and increase the oiliness.  With such great ingredients, I was confident I wouldn’t experience any dryness or irritation with Michael Todd Charcoal Detox.

This detox cleanser comes in the same type of pump packaging as the Michael Todd Grape Seed Cleansing Oil.  It’s large, easy to use, and perfect for in the shower or using with wet hands.  It’s also easy to control the amount you use, because you can dispense a little or a lot, so there’s no waste.

The Michael Todd Charcoal Detox Deep Pore Cleansing Gel has a clean, fresh, natural herbal scent.  It almost reminds me of wood, like when you walk into a home store that has a lumber yard- just clean and fresh.  I swear, I can’t get enough of it, I don’t want to get out of the shower!  If you’re sensitive to fragrances, though, no worries- it’s not strong and it dissipates quickly.

My face does not feel dried out or tight after using Michael Todd Charcoal Detox.  My skin is left clean and soft, and I need fewer pore extractions.   I had been using Boscia’s Detoxifying Black Cleanser as needed, but Michael Todd has it beat.  Nothing against Boscia, I love theirs, but this one is my new fave.  The only disadvantage is that the Michael Todd charcoal cleanser doesn’t get warm, but if you’re using warm water, you don’t notice this difference.   Plus, Michael Todd’s cleanser is $5 less, and you get almost two ounces more.

Overall, Michael Todd Charcoal Detox Deep Pore Gel Cleanser is my new go-to for when my skin needs some extra attention.  You can get it from Michael Todd by clicking here.  You can also get free shipping on orders of $30 or more, and for a limited time, enter code BEAUTY20 at checkout for 20% off!
