Hope you’re all having a great end of summer! I’m SO not ready for it to end- it makes me sad to think fall is right around the corner.
The good news is that I’ve been testing out the ILIA summer collection for a while now, and I’m SO happy with the products! I’d heard great things about this brand, but have never tried anything myself. Although Sephora stores near us don’t carry it- I’m super happy that they do have it online!

If you haven’t heard of ILIA, it’s a fashion forward brand of natural beauty products with ingredients that are ethically and sustainably sourced. Each product is formulated with up to 85% certified organic bio-active botanicals. Pretty awesome, huh?
ILIA was quite generous and sent me the Cucumber Water Stick, Moondance Radiant Translucent Powder SPF 20, and the Tinted Lip Conditioners in Darlin’ and Kamikaze. I must say, all of the products really fascinated me!
Cucumber Water Stick
The Cucumber Water Stick is a unique, solid toner formulated with cucumber pulp, aloe, and chicory root extracts. It provides an instant boost of cooling hydration to revitalize the skin and prepare it for makeup.
The cucumber pulp helps to de-puff and instantly cool, aloe extract improves radiance and boosts hydration, and chicory root has anti-inflammatory properties to promote collagen and improve skin texture.
Although I really liked the concept of this, I was unsure how it would work with my oily skin. As it turns out, I had nothing to fear- it did exactly what it was purported to do. My skin felt hydrated without being greasy, and I got a great finish for my makeup. Being in hot, humid Louisiana, the cucumber was awesome, especially when I stashed this in the fridge. Plus, I LOVE how convenient it is, so easy to toss into my handbag!
Moondance Radiant Translucent Powder SPF 20
This translucent powder is an organic blend of powders with aloe vera, light essential oils of rosemary and thyme, hibiscus extract, zinc oxide, and fine pearl pigment. The powder is housed in a tube with a brush that twists up, and the powder flows through the brush, and you just buff it on- easy peasy!
Hibiscus flower extract provides antioxidant protection, non-nano zinc oxide provides SPF 20 protection, and the pearl pigments have light reflecting properties to make the skin luminous.
I really liked the idea of this product, too, especially since we have a few upcoming trips. I love how easy it is to use, and that it has SPF. I found, though, that the luminizing effect didn’t really work well for my oily skin on hot, humid days. But when I’m indoors, in the air conditioning all day, it really provides a beautiful finish- so this is going to be an absolute must during the dry winter months.
Tinted Lip Conditioner
These tinted lip conditioners are infused with a blend of organic ingredients to soothe and condition, while providing broad spectrum SPF 15 protection to delicate lip tissue. Cocoa butter helps heal and hydrate, while olive, sesame, and Vitamin E oils provide antioxidant protection and help regenerate the skin.
I received Darlin’, a peachy nude; and Kamikaze, a raspberry pink. These shades are simply gorgeous, and they’re perfect for summer and fall- well any season actually…lol! Each shade is sheer, yet buildable, so I can have a bolder look, or one that’s more subdued.
I’m really happy with both of these- and I don’t usually “do” pinks, but this is more of a berry, and since it’s buildable, it’s very versatile. Omg, it’s SO nice to have a formula that’s not drying, like all the mattes that are popular right now. I’ve worn these literally every day since I got them- and the condition of my lips has actually improved. I’ll definitely be wearing them year-round.
Overall, I’m very happy with these products. Years ago, I kind of stayed away from the more natural products because they just didn’t seem to perform as well as I wanted. Only recently did I find that there are some great natural brands out there that live up to their promises- ILIA is one of them.
I was not displeased with any one of these products- I love how I can use them without worrying about harming my skin. I also love that with the powder and lip conditioners, they incorporate SPF, which is my number one top fave skincare ingredient/product. Without SPF, no other anti-aging product matters.
The only negative? I regret not having tried this brand sooner…lol! If you haven’t tried any of their products, you’re really missing out. Head over to iliabeauty.com try a few things for yourself!
