Hey everyone!! I’m LOVING the warmer weather! I seriously wish I could have an endless summer, all the time!
With warmer weather here, most of us will be spending a lot more time outdoors. While sun protection is necessary year-round, sometimes we want something that’s a bit lighter weight, perhaps even with a bronzing effect, for the sunny summer months.
Sunscreen is my absolute number one anti-aging product, having a permanent spot in my routine. I often use multiple layers of products containing SPF, so of course, I never get tired of trying new and/or different ones out. The problem for me is that with great skincare, my face is often lighter than the rest of me- so I look pretty odd without some sort of makeup on…lol! That being said, I’m super happy to tell you about the HydroPeptide Solar Defense Tinted SPF 30.
The broad spectrum SPF 30 color-adjusting formula is purported to provide flawless coverage and a luminous finish with UVA , UVB, and infrared protection. Solar Defense helps protect against free radical damage that can cause wrinkles and fine lines, replenishes hydration without heaviness, and camouflages minor imperfections, leaving a matte tinted finish for a luminous glow.
Key ingredients include titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, which provide physical sun protection; acai and green tea are great antioxidants; and aloe along with hyaluronic acid keep skin moisturized and soft. So, you’re not just getting sun protection, you’re getting some great active skincare ingredients.
I was most interested in this product because, like the Charlotte Tilbury Unisex Healthy Glow Hydrating Tint (read more about it here), the lotion appears to be a whitish color, but becomes tinted as it adjusts to your skin. I love the concept, but despite leaving a beautiful summer glow, the Charlotte Tilbury doesn’t have any SPF, so I only use it when I’m wearing other products that do have SPF.
HydroPeptide Solar Defense Tinted is housed in a sleek, sanitary tube with a convenient pump. This means it’s not only easy to use, but it’s kept safe from degradation caused by light and air exposure. It goes on surprisingly easy, and it’s not heavy like many other mineral-based sunscreens. The tint does a great job of preventing the gray or white cast, too.
Despite having oily/combo skin, I never noticed any greasiness, clogged pores, etc. It has a light, pleasant scent that dissipates quickly, so there’s no weird chemical or sunscreen smell. This has been great for those days I don’t want to wear makeup, as I put this on, and top it with the Colorescience Sunforgettable Brush-On sunscreen with SPF 50 (read more about it here), and I can step out with a fab summer glow!
Overall, I’m super happy with the HydroPeptide Solar Defense Tinted SPF 50. Anti-aging ingredients, a healthy glow, and sun protection? I’ll take it! Head over to HydroPeptide.com and check it out!
