Hey everyone, hope you’re all having the most fabulous March ever! The weather is finally getting milder here in Louisiana, and I’m SO ready for summer! Not only do I loathe the cold weather, but it wreaks havoc on my skin. The cold combined with the dry air from indoor heating tends to make the signs of aging more obvious, and makes my face so dull!
Those of you who have kept up with our blog may already know about the brand Exuviance. Even if you’re new to our site, if you’re familiar with scientifically-backed skincare, then you’ve likely heard of the brand, along with its “sister,” NeoStrata.
For those who don’t know, renowned Drs. Van Scot and Yu, the founders of Exuviance, are the original patent-holders of the glycolic, or “lunchtime,” peel. They have since delved into researching AHAs, and patenting newer, gentler (yet effective) PHAs (polyhydroxy acids), along with bionics. Basically, anything from the brand is going to have loads of research behind it, so you can be assured of getting a product formulated with proven, quality ingredients that WORK.
My biggest pet peeve with my face is the “elevens” on my forehead- they really bother me. I used to get Botox injections, and was VERY happy with the results. I discovered that nothing works as well as injectables; and there aren’t many products that have much of an effect at all on these types of dynamic wrinkles. But, when we started our blog, I wanted to find out what products worked, and what ones didn’t. I couldn’t do that properly while using injectables, so I quit getting them several years ago.
One of the first things I noticed while trying out thousands of skincare products, is that some provide immediate, temporary results, while others provide longer lasting results that take seemingly forever to even notice. It’s rare that a product gives us the best of both worlds.
Anywho, fairly recently, Exuviance released their Age Reverse Total Correct + Sculpt Serum (read about it here), which has been nothing short of phenomenal. While the elevens are still there, I noticed that after several months of using the Total Correct + Sculpt Serum, the appearance of them has, indeed, been reduced. Fine lines in other areas, such as around my eyes, and one side of my mouth, are also less noticeable. Results without injections…?!?! COUNT ME IN!!!
So, not only did Exuviance release this super-duper serum, but they’ve gone a step further and have a new product that includes serum patches in addition to the serum itself. The HA100 Micro-Fill kit consists of a 10ml pump bottle of the Age Reverse Total Correct + Sculpt Serum, and eight (four sets of two) micro-cone patches. The components work together to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
One of my favorite things about Exuviance is that they don’t make false claims or empty promises. What the brand does do, though, is provide formulas made with proven, scientifically-backed ingredients that live up to the claims and actually work. You may already know about the wonders of hyaluronic acid. This stellar skincare ingredient is a humectant, meaning it attracts moisture. When applied to the skin, it does an excellent job of keeping the skin hydrated.
The patches in the HA100 Micro-Filler kit consist of “micro-cones,” tiny little cones of 100% hyaluronic acid. The patches are applied with the cone side contacting the skin, then left on overnight, and the hyaluronic acid “cones” dissolve. With the constant contact of HA on the skin, the outer layer becomes plumped, leading to a reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, making them appear to be “filled.”
The patches themselves also play a role in how the system works. I’m a huge fan of wrinkle patches and stickers. If left on overnight (or several hours daily), they have the effect of “training” that particular area of skin to remain relaxed, which leads to a temporary reduction of dynamic wrinkles.
If you do your own research, you’ll find that the hyaluronic acid molecule, even the newer “smaller” ones, are too large to penetrate through all the layers of skin. A molecule must be 500 Daltons or less to get through the skin barrier (Bos & Meinardi, 2000). Exuviance beats this by providing a serum for daily use to keep the skin plumped, thereby maintaining your results.
To use the kit, every morning and evening after cleansing, apply the Age Reverse Total Correct + Sculpt Serum. In the mornings and most evenings, continue with your normal regimen. Once per week in the evenings, wait for the serum to absorb, then apply the patches directly over the area(s) of concern. Smooth down the adhesive edges, and press the patch lightly to the skin to activate the cones. Follow with your moisturizer, avoiding the patch area.
I decided to apply a single patch to my elevens area, because that’s my biggest area of concern right now, the serum itself has worked wonders for other areas. The cones do feel slightly “prickly” at first, but it’s not painful or anything, just an odd sensation. After I had the patch on for a few minutes, I forgot it was even there, so it wasn’t annoying or irritating in any way.
When I woke up the next morning, it completely slipped my mind that I had that patch on. I made my oatmeal, and went out to get the mail, ate my oatmeal, then went to get dressed and brush my teeth. Only when I looked in the mirror did I realize I had that patch on…lol!! The patch came off super easily, nothing like removing a bandage…lol. I was astounded at how smooth my forehead looked- WOW. It was like my elevens just vanished!
With continued use of the serum, results get better over time, as the skin becomes healthier with a greater level of hydration. So, due to the patches with 100% hyaluronic acid, you will see results almost immediately, plus long-lasting benefits. There aren’t many products on the market that provide both immediately visible, and long-term, positive results.
If you’re wanting a skincare system to directly target fine lines and wrinkles, that actually works, and gives immediate and long-term results, then Exuviance HA100 Micro-Filler is for YOU. It will be available starting March 20, 2018, on HSN.com. Make sure to tune into #BeautyReport between 7pm and 8pm EST to watch Exuviance on HSN Live!
