Hey there, hope you’re all ready for spring- I know I am!!!
Did you happen to see our post about Elemis’ Pro-Collagen Marine Cream? If not, you can read about it here– but it’s become one of those products that I don’t EVER want to be without. I even created a new category on our site, HG, just because products THIS fab, the ones that reach Holy Grail status, deserve a special category!
It’s easy to see why so many reviewers are switching to it from LaMer. Although I’ve never tried LaMer, I’ve heard it’s got kind of a petroleum-like texture, and is quite heavy. Having oily skin, I need something that will absorb, but that’s super hydrating at the same time. Once I passed my twenties, I started focusing on anti-aging ingredients, and Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream is all of these- and SO luxurious to use!
Another thing I really like about Elemis is that the brand encompasses something very important to me- social responsibility. We’ve tried to include blog posts whenever we can that focus on brands that give back, and yet again, Elemis is doing just that! The Pro-Collagen Marine Cream in my other post was a limited edition to benefit breast cancer research. This one is also limited edition, and it benefits Women for Women International.
I wrote a blog post shortly before Women’s Day (read it here) about how Elemis is working to help this organization. Lo and behold, a package arrived on Women’s Day, and it was the Women’s Day special edition Marine Cream! Be still my beating heart! Anywho, I posted about it on Instagram, but since it’s still available, and the Women for Women International campaign is still up, I just HAD to do a blog post to tell you guys all about it!
Women for Women International is an organization that helps women in conflict-affected countries. They help marginalized women obtain access to the life-changing skills needed to overcome economic restrictions and social exclusion. Through the sales of this limited edition Marine Cream, Elemis will donate $46,000 to Women for Women International.
Even the packaging is special- it was designed by British accessories designer, Karen Mabon. She got her inspiration for the design from the cream’s star ingredient, Padina Pavonica, a Mediterranean algae with stellar anti-aging properties. The box is re-usable, which I love, because it’s SO gorgeous, and will always serve as an inspiring reminder that there is still good in this world.
