Have you ever found a Holy Grail product that you thought could never be better? That’s it’s just THAT amazing that there was just no need for any kind of improvement? The only thing with the Marine Cream is that it didn’t contain any sun protection, so I’d always use a separate sunscreen- because SPF is an absolute non-negotiable MUST. This didn’t bother me, though, because all too often, adding SPF to a product changes it too much. It doesn’t perform the same, and sure as heck doesn’t feel the same- know what I mean…?
Well, guess what? Elemis spent fifteen years working on a Marine Cream with SPF. Let me just say, the wait was well worth it! Unlike other products, the Marine Cream with SPF 30 performs just like the regular version- it’s a gel cream that glides on easily and absorbs readily, and still has the classic scent- no sunblock smell!
Just like the original, Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream SPF 30 contains firming padina pavonica and antioxidant-rich gingko biloba to help improve skin elasticity and suppleness. So, you get all the benefits of the original, with SPF 30- so you’re protected from further UV damage, and from undoing all the good that the Marine Cream is doing for you!
It’s important to note that the pea-sized amount of product needed is less than the amount of sun protection recommended by the American Academy of Dermatology. For me, though, this is a non-issue, as I tend to layer multiple products with SPF. The way I see it, too much sun protection is not possible! But, after so many years of research, the size of the molecules (which are micronized) purportedly allow for sufficient coverage. So, if you’re the type who doesn’t like tons of thick sunscreen, this is the perfect product for you!
Since the active ingredients are not physical sun blockers (i.e. minerals), but instead they work to absorb and “neutralize” UV light, there is no white or gray cast. If you take a lot of selfies, you will notice a huge difference!
I never would have thought it would be possible for a product with an SPF of 30 to even come close to the original- so obviously Elemis has “wowed” me yet again!
