Hellooooooo… it’s FRI-YAY!!!!!!
Recently, TimeToSpa sent me a package, which included the Elemis Gentle Foaming Cleanser and a sample packet of the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream (see our review here). Since I liked them a lot, I was thrilled when Elemis sent me their Limited Edition Pro-Collagen Marine Cream.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and each year for the last 15 years, Elemis has produced a limited edition pink product and contributed over $200,000 to the cause. For 2017, they created a pink ribbon super-sized version of the cult-favorite Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, pledging to donate $30,000 from the sales to the Breast Cancer Care charity (Elemis, 2017).
The charitable contributions and willingness to help spread awareness means a lot to me, as I have a cousin who is a breast cancer survivor. I’m grateful for all the research that’s been done, and financial contributions from companies such as Elemis, as my cousin is still with us today, and I’d like her to stick around for many years to come!
As I mentioned previously, I had a sample packet of this legendary product, and really liked it, so it’s easy to see why one of these is sold every NINE SECONDS. The ingredients in this clinically-proven product have been shown to improve skin hydration, tone and firmness, as well as reduce the appearance of wrinkles in just 14 days (Elemis, 2017).
This ultimate anti-aging cream is formulated with some fab ingredients. Padina Pavonica, a brown Mediterranean algae is blended with gingko biloba, chlorella, and rose and mimosa absolutes to provide moisture and visibly improve the appearance of fine lines, while supporting firmness, suppleness, and elasticity (Elemis, 2017).
This limited edition cream is housed in a large, sleek pink jar, and a silver-tone lid with a pink ribbon print and embossed ribbon border on top. Let me just say, this packaging is absolutely beautiful- not just because it looks gorgeous, but it serves as a reminder of those touched by breast cancer.
The first time I used the sample packet I previously had, I noticed right away that it smells like Dior’s Poison, which I absolutely adore. Even if I didn’t like the cream for my face, I’d likely still use it for my body because it smells SO good! It does dissipate, though, so it won’t clash with any other fragrances you may be wearing.

I have oily/combo skin, and right now, it’s hypersensitive and irritated from switching to a higher strength of tretinoin. So, I need something that moisturizing enough to address all the peeling, but not so heavy that my oily skin feels greasy.
Since the sample packet (it lasted several days) worked perfectly when my skin wasn’t irritated and peeling, I didn’t know if I’d have the same great results. As it turns out, though, it still worked wonders even with my skin’s current condition. I this stuff SO much that I’ve been using it both day and night, and my skin is smooth, soft, and glowing, and it definitely helps minimize the peeling and irritation.
The only negative is the packaging, and I hate to say that because it’s so darn lux and fabulous looking! I know consumes prefer jars for high-end products, so I appreciate that the brand does what consumers prefer. Unfortunately, active ingredients degrade when exposed to air or light, so these types of products need to be packaged to minimize exposure (Kauer, Kapila & Agrawal, 2007). Plus, repeatedly dipping fingers into a jar introduces moisture and bacteria.
BUT, the packaging does NOT deter me from this product- it’s THAT good. I simply transferred some of it into a travel bottle, and set the jar aside with the lid screwed on tightly (looking fab on my counter). When my bottle runs out, I’ll simply refill from the jar. If you don’t want to put the cream into a different container, be sure to wash (and dry) your hands before using, or use a spatula to dip it out, and put the back on lid on quickly, and tightly. They also have a travel-sized tube available if you prefer.
Overall, I’m absolutely in love with Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. We haven’t done a Monthly Favorites in a loooong time, but I’m thinking it’s probably about time to do one- because this stuff would definitely top that list. I love how it goes on so easily, and is super silky without being too heavy. I know it’s not a good thing to do, but I just can’t stop touching my face after using this!
I wish I had a machine that would just keep refilling this, as it’s something I don’t EVER want to be without. There are a lot of products I’ve tried, reviewed and really liked. It’s not often I get to say something has HG status in my routine. But, I’m going to go ahead and put this out there- Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream is absolutely a new Holy Grail product for me!
