DIY Facial Masks for Gorgeous Skin!

Good morning!  Hope you’re having a terrific Tuesday!

Have you ever been to a store like Lush?  If so, you know they have some of the freshest, most natural skincare goodies, but you’ll often pay a steep price.  If you like natural skincare products, then you’ll LOVE these DIY face masks!

bananas

Honey Banana Mask for Acne and Anti-Aging

This one is great for acne and anti-aging.  The banana contains potent vitamins and antioxidants, the honey has antibacterial properties, while the lemon helps exfoliate and adds extra vitamins.

-1 medium sized banana
-2 tablespoons honey
-1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Mash up the banana, then mix in the honey and lemon juice.  Apply to cleansed skin, leave on for 10-20 minutes, then rinse off.

strawberries

Strawberry Mask for Oily Skin

The strawberries in this mask are full of antioxidants and alphahydroxy acids, which help exfoliate and control oil.  The honey acts as a natural antibacterial agent, while the grapeseed oil provides polyphenols and an antioxidant boost.

-5-6 fresh strawberries
-1 tablespoon honey
-1 tablespoon grapeseed oil

Mash the strawberries up, add the honey and oil, then mix until it becomes a paste.  Apply to cleansed skin, leave on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off.

coconut

Coconut Honey Hydration Mask

Coconut is a great source of vitamins, honey is antibacterial, and both ingredients provide moisture.

-2 tablespoons honey
-2 tablespoons coconut oil

Mix together and apply to cleansed skin.  The mask may be sticky or thick at first, but will become easier to spread when it comes into contact with the warmth of your skin.  Leave on for 10-20 minutes, then massage while rinsing off.

honey

Fruit Smoothie Facial

This recipe is fantastic for hydration, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, acne, you name it.  It’s a great multi-tasking mask, with myriad benefits.  The recipe makes a LOT, so you might want to use half of each, or invite a friend over and mask together.

-1 medium banana
-2 strawberries
-1/2 fresh peach, peeled
-1 tablespoon coconut milk
-2 tablespoons coconut oil
-2 tablespoons honey
-1 teaspoon matcha tea powder (optional)

Mash the fruit together, then add the coconut milk, honey, and matcha.  Mix into a paste, then apply to cleansed skin.  Leave on for 15-20 minutes, then rinse off.

With the mess I make when mixing up these recipes, you’d think I would get tired of them.  Nope!  It makes me feel so pampered to use such fresh ingredients.  Plus, they smell really good and help relax my senses!
