COOLA Body SPF 30 Plumeria Moisturizer

This antioxidant-infused moisturizer from COOLA contains 70% certified organic ingredients, and is formulated with patented Oleosome technology. Oleosomes, which are derived from safflower, help boost the effectiveness of the UV filters. This, in turn, leads to a higher SPF value with up to 85% fewer active ingredients. Fewer active ingredients mean less risk of irritation (COOLA Suncare, 2015).

Organic rose hip oil provides essential fatty acids, minerals and Vitamin C. Organic evening primrose and linseed oils are rich in Omegas 3 and 6, and help calm, tone, hydrate, and reduce redness. Organic shea butter, which is high in Vitamins A and F, helps smooth, soften, and balance the skin (COOLA Suncare, 2015).

The sun protection in this moisturizer is a result of avenobenzone and octinoxate, which absorb UV rays, as opposed to minerals which reflect. As a result, there is no white or chalky residue. However, you do need to apply this about 15-20 minutes before sun exposure, to allow the skin to absorb the ingredients. It is water resistant for up to 40 minutes.

This cruelty-free product is housed in a convenient tube, which makes dispensing very easy. Unlike many other sunscreen lotions, the consistency of this lotion spreads SO easily. It went on very smoothly, and absorbed readily, without feeling greasy. I was simply left with soft, smooth skin.

When I first opened the tube, it smelled heavenly- I must admit that I ended up applying this at night, even though I wasn’t going into the sun. It smelled THAT good! It’s also available in mango! Not to worry, for those of you who do not like fragrance in their skincare products, this also comes in unscented.
