Hey everyone! I was going to work on several posts throughout the past week with Memorial Day sales, etc., but, Mother Nature had other plans in store.
It’s been a crap-tastic week for us, as we’ve both been sick. Usually, when one of us is sick, the other takes up the slack so we can still get stuff done. With both of us down, though, nothing got done. Zilch! Well, we still had to go outside to take out the trash, get the mail, etc. It’s times like this that I really appreciate convenient products that are quick and easy to use.
Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield SPF 50 utilizes EnviroScreen technology, which provides environmental protection against not only UVA/UVB, but also pollution, blue light, and infrared radiation. The broad spectrum SPF 50 (PA+++) formula is also water and sweat resistant up to 40 minutes, which makes it perfect for those of us who are outside a lot. (And like me- I run outdoors, and sweat like a dog in the Louisiana humidity…lol.)
Total Protection Face Shield is oil-free, hypoallergenic, and lightweight, providing invisible coverage in a universal shade. The active sun protection ingredient is 12% zinc oxide, so it’s chemical-free, and works on all skin types. On top of the sun and environmental protection, it’s hydrating and antioxidant-rich, so it’s a real treat for your skin!
The lotion is housed in a sleek squeeze bottle with a slender tip, so it’s easy to dispense the perfect amount without dumping it all over the place (a plus for my clumsy self!). The opaque bottle is great as it keeps the formula protected from degradation by light and air.
When I first dispense a bit, it’s like a lightweight lotion, but when I spread it onto my face, it kind of behaves like more of a liquid. This makes it SO easy to spread and sink in, without any heavy or greasy feeling on my oily/combo skin.
Usually, products like this can tend to leave a white cast on my medium-tone skin because of the mineral content. With Total Protection Face Shield, though, there’s a slight tint that keeps this from happening. Woo hoo!
Now, if you’ve kept up with us, you may already know that I don’t think it’s possible to have too much sun protection…lol! I’m a huge fan of layering my sunscreen products, and the Colorescience Sunforgettable Brush-On Shield is PERFECT for this.
Brush-On Shield also contains EnviroScreen technology, along with titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. The powder formula is housed in a dispenser with a built-in brush. You simply shake to activate, then brush onto your skin. With such convenient application, it’s no wonder this is a cult-fave; and there’s NO excuse NOT to protect yourself!
I love to keep a Brush-On Shield in my handbag, so I can reapply throughout the day. It comes in four shades- Fair, Medium, Tan, and Deep. The Medium and Tan are perfect for me, and I can get away with using either one, so the shades are quite versatile. The powder is super lightweight, and can be worn by itself, or over other skincare products or makeup.
As Colorescience proclaims, I love that these products look like nothing, but protect from everything. With so many options available, there’s no need to speed up the appearance of aging, or remain unprotected from environmental dangers. Head over to Colorescience.com!
P.S. Colorescience also sent me a Pura Vida bracelet- a portion of the profits goes to support the Oceanic Preservation Society. Pura Vida has a Charity Collection, so check them out here!
