I’m so, so, so sad that summer is almost over. I love Halloween, but after Halloween, I want it to go back to being summer! I don’t like the cold, and I don’t like having to wear something other than flip-flops! Since I’m an Eskimo, I know that’s really weird, right…?!?!
Well, I’m always hearing people talking about how they can’t figure out what colors of makeup to wear between seasons. For instance, many people wear brighter colors in the summer, then deeper shades in the fall. As for me, I often just wear whatever I feel like- I don’t usually play by “the rules.”
But, there’s nothing more perfect than a classic winged liner and red lip for the perfect transition look. I’ve had many friends complain that they don’t have the “balls” to wear red lipstick. I’m here to tell you, there’s a red for everyone!

If you’d like a sheer red that’s more like a gloss or balm, go for Lipstick Queen’s Medieval. But, if you want an actual red lipstick, there are so many shades available. Personally, I prefer something with a neutral or blue base as they don’t make my teeth look yellow, the way yellow-based reds do.
Five of my fave red lipsticks are:

L to R: Besame 1920 Besame Red, Bite Beauty VIB Rouge, Lipstick Queen Velvet Rope Black Tie, Milk Makeup O.G. Red, and Studio Gear Whipped Stained Gloss in True Red
-Besame Cosmetics 1920 Besame Red– a beautiful, muted red shade based on the popular shade from 1920. I love this for a more subdued look, check out my review here.
-Bite Beauty VIB Rouge– an exclusive shade for VIB Rouge Beauty Insiders at Sephora. It’s a gorgeous, bold classic red.
-Lipstick Queen Velvet Rope
FREE 24-Piece Gift with Beauty Purchase at NORDSTROM.
-Milk Makeup O.G. Red– Another great classic red, wears very well and is not drying. Very versatile, goes great with almost anything! Check out my review here.
-Studio Gear Whipped Stained Gloss in True Red– This formula is unlike any other. It starts off shiny, then becomes a matte liquid lipstick. As it wears, it turns into a stain, so it ALWAYS looks great, no matter how long you’ve had it on. And it’s not nearly as drying as ordinary liquid matte lipsticks. Check out my review here. A red lip is something I don’t get to do often since I’m always testing out new products. But, it’s one of my fave looks because it’s so versatile and suitable for almost any occasion. You can never have too many red lipsticks!
