An amuse bouche is a delightful, usually bite-sized, hors d’oeuvres that is served in fancy-schmancy restaurants. The ones we’ve had are usually only a bite, maybe two, but oh so delectable! Amuse bouche literally translates to “mouth pleaser,” and is a great way for a chef to show off her skills.
Bite Beauty recently released their Amuse Bouche lipsticks, which are described as high-impact lipsticks that deliver extreme moisture, soft texture, and creamy wear. When Sephora offered a shade of this formula as a free reward, I just had to get it!
Since I want to end on a positive note, I’ll start with the only negative I could think of- the shade. The only shade available was Radish, and it’s just not for me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a stunningly gorgeous color, it’s just not my style, as I don’t really wear pinks and berries. But, the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche formula is very pigmented and vivid, and since it’s blue-based, it made my wine-stained teeth look whiter! (Did somebody say “wine?”)
As for the formula itself, it’s everything it’s advertised to be! The Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipstick is, indeed, very creamy and at the end of the day, my lips were in even better shape than before I put it on. It glided on easily, it wasn’t splotchy, and it didn’t drag at all- just a nice, smooth application.
Now, since this is a cream formula, it doesn’t wear quite as long as matte or other long-wearing formulas. I applied one layer, then blotted, then applied another layer. I got a decent few hours of wear, it would have lasted longer if it weren’t for eating fajitas…lol!
One of my favorite things about Bite Beauty is that their lipsticks are packed with resveratrol, and they are made with food-grade ingredients. So, the lipstick actually smelled good, and it didn’t taste bad, either. In a time where drying matte formulas are so popular, it’s really refreshing to have such a moisturizing lipstick.
Overall, Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipstick lives up to its name- it truly is a “mouth pleaser.” Despite Radish not being my favorite type of shade, I can’t wait to try out more of these in other colors!
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipstick retails for $26.00 and is available at Sephora.
Wow!! That is a gorgeous color on you!! I haven’t tried anything yet from Bite Beauty. Why must there be so many options!? ?
Hi Janine! Thanks for stopping by, and thank you for the compliment! I agree, there are way too many options- and the sad thing is, there are so many GREAT options that it’s hard to decide what I’m actually going to get…lol! I’ll be dropping by abeautifulwhim.com this evening so I can indulge myself! 🙂
