I tested this concealer out at a Sephora in Texas, but they were out of my shade, so I ended up getting another brand. Needless to say, I was really excited to get the opportunity to try this out!
First off, I’m glad I found the right color in store, because there are a whopping 20 shades available to choose from! I got the shade Medium Golden, which was perfect for my skin this time of year.
According to Amazing Cosmetics, this formula is water resistant, long-wearing, and contains ultra-concentrated pigments. It contains Vitamin E for an emollient, creamy consistency that never cakes, dries, or settles. Cucumber fruit extract helps de-puff, soften, and soothe. Also, the lightweight, breathable formula ensures skin looks and feels like skin, only flawless.
Right away, I liked that the formula is housed in a squeezable tube. While concealers with a wand may be handy, it’s often nearly impossible to get the product out of the bottom, which leads to waste. Additionally, this is far more sanitary than cake formulas.
The consistency was perfect, just thick enough to be full coverage, but so light that it feels weightless. When I first applied it, I put it on too thickly, and didn’t really like the result. After re-reading the product information, I learned that “less is more.” Amazing Cosmetics recommends that you dot, blend, and repeat as necessary to achieve the desired coverage. Once I got this figured out, I was SO happy with the flawless coverage I got!
I used this concealer on a scar from a recent pimple, the capillaries by my nose, the darkness under my eyes, and a few areas with slight discoloration from sun damage. It was beautiful- and my skin truly looked flawless. My only complaint is that it settled into the fine lines around my eye area and creased slightly. HOWEVER, in the interest of getting an accurate idea of performance, I did NOT use any kind of primer. Furthermore, I have been using tretinoin, so my skin is a bit crepey in the eye area. Although this is a temporary effect, it has changed the performance of almost all products I use. Therefore, I do NOT believe this is an issue with the concealer. I will continue to use it, but I will make sure to use a primer until my skin adjusts to the tretinoin.
Overall, I am very happy with AmazingConcealer. With such a great formula, 20 shades, and 2 sizes available, it is a must for anyone’s makeup collection.
